Safely-Kept Soul

You will find Ignazina not far from Charasis, up on the edge of the canyon at (676, -30, 40).

"I met a necromancer named Ignizinz Thafni, whose preoccupation with her own death appears to have twisted her mind into some strange sort of incurable obsession. Crazy or not, Ignazina has promised me a very powerful item should I deliver the Phylactery of the Dragonslayer, Emperor Ganak. What she hopes to gain from possessing the item is anyone's guess."

I need to obtain the Phylactery of the Dragonslayer, Emperor Ganak.

1. I need to find the Phylacter of the Darslayer.

The Phylactery is found in a pedestal/urn in front of the Praetor of the Phylactery in Charasis: Vault of Eternal Sleep (click here for a printable map of the zone). There is an involved process in getting to it and defeating the Praetor who guards it, which is outlined in our Guide to Charasis: Vault of Eternal Sleep.

The quest will updae as soon as you step into the Altar of the Dragonslayer.

2. Obtain the Phylactery of the Dragonslayer, Emperor Ganak.

Once the Praetor of the Phylactery and his minions are defeated, you can right click on the pedestal in the middle of the dais to obtain the Phylactery.

3. Return to Ignazina Thafni.

As you'll recall, we've already determined that this necromancer is crazy (they all are, but she more than most). When you speak to her, she decides that you wish to destroy the Phylacter.

She will turn aggressive and will attack you, screaming, "The Phylactery of the Darslayer is mine. You shall not alter my destiny!"

As Ignazina is a level 84^^^ crazy woman with a nasty undead pet, I advise you try this bit with a full group, and let the biggest, toughest member get her started (we all hailed her after the main tank, just to be safe). Everyone in the party who is at this stage of the quest when she falls will get the update.

"I delivered the Phylactery of the Darslayer to Ignazina Thafni though surprisingly enough (or maybe not) she declined to keep it. Despite her apparent insanity, she still held up her end of the bargain and rewarded me my efforts."

Although the ending text does not make perfect sense in context of the events that just transpired, you are now the proud owner of a very nice amulet. I hope you don't misplace yours, like I did. I'm going to go cry into my beer now.
