Find Makota Shoda (near 140, -115, 161), who wanders along a wide area along Lake of Ill Omen's shores, between Omen's Call and Sathir's Span in the Fens of Nathsar.

You say, "Hail, Master Makoto Shoda"
Master Makoto Shoda says to you, "Ah, I sense a kindred spirit. It is well to meet a fellow disciple of enlightenment in this harsh and untamed land."
You say to Master Makoto Shoda, "Greetings, Sensei Shoda. What brings you to the land of Kunark?"
Master Makoto Shoda says to you, "Tranquility, my life long pursuit. Until I have found Balance and Peace I will not be fit to serve as the Tranquil One's chosen. I do so hope that Merrek is doing well carrying on the work in my stead."
You say to Master Makoto Shoda, "So why have you come here?"
Master Makoto Shoda says to you, "It is known that Master Wu, the greatest of all of us, once walked these lands and emerged truly enlightened. I had hoped to have had a fraction of the same success, but my own spiritual progression has eluded me."
You say to Master Makoto Shoda, "Why haven't you had success?"
Master Makoto Shoda says to you, "After much meditation I have come to the conclusion that I do not know where my path here begins. I believe I need focus, words to ponder over before I can take my real first steps here."
You say to Master Makoto Shoda, "So you need books."
Master Makoto Shoda says to you, "Ah, you are wise, my friend. Yes, books would help focus my spirit. Balance is needed, so two books shall be a beginning. If you happen across two books of teachings, I would be most grateful if you would share them with me."
You say to Master Makoto Shoda, "I will Sensei Shoda."

(if you have the books with you, it ends with:)
You say to Master Makoto Shoda, "You mean like these? I have "Teachings of Master Wu" and "Journal of Wu, Seeker of Enlightenment".

In order to initiate the quest, you will need "Journal of Wu, Seeker of Enlightenment" (quest reward for "Wu's Edict of the Material" quest in Lesser Faydark) and "Teachings of Master Wu" (KOS collection quest, obtained in Sanctum of the Scaleborn) in your inventory when you speak to Master Shoda.

This begins your epic quest series, with the quest "The Broken Hand"!

=================================================
IMPORTANT!!!!

Before you can complete the quest series you will need to have completed the following quests: The "Trial of Tynnonium" (fens of Nathsar) and "To Speak as a Dragon" (throughout Norrath).

You must also learn the Sathirian Language quest in order to complete this quest series. This means collecting "loose pages" in Fens of Nathsar to complete the "Kunark: Mysterious Black Tome" quest, turning it in to a collector (Teren's Grasp is the closest). Then read the Tome to receive the quest "Finding Sethis Kai"; he stands on Sathir's Span in Fens of Nathsar. He will teach you Sathirian if you collect twelve Cockatrice Feathers for him. At level 80 even the wimpiest class can take these on. They are level 71/72, and found all over to the northeast of the Span. Turn the quest in and Sethis will teach you Sathirian. Much faster than any language course you've ever taken, I promise.
