Quest Text:
I have spoken with Shul'da, a TrueSpirit. She spoke of spirits that have been trapped within the skeletons of long dead iksar warriors, and has asked that I destroy the skeletons and release the spirits from within. Shul'da indicated that there were a set of these skeletons nearby, but implied that there are other groups of them in other parts of Kunark. I will need to find these abominations, and destroy them.
I must release spirits trapped within their skeletons throughout Kunark.
You will travel to three locations: Jarsath Wastes, Kunzar Jungle and Karnor's Castle.
- I must find spirits that have been corrupted by an outerworldly aura.
Destroy Unearthed Dragoons, Sentries and Soldiers just northwest of Ganak's Battlement in Jarsath Wastes, around Venril's Crown (-42, 7, -18). These are level 77-78 mobs, and easily soloed, if you do not allow yourself to be swarmed. After each one is defeated, a Forlorn Spirit appears. Hail them and go through the short dialog to release them.
Eventually, after at least 20 kills, you'll see the message:
I have cleansed enough skeletons along Venril's Crown.

- I must find the spirits of ancient warriors that have been forced into servitude.
Make your way to Kunzar Jungle, and go to the area near Ganak's Old Crypt, the Crypt Grounds and the Reet Encampment, in the southwest corner of the zone, in and around388, -113, 870. There are dozens of Risen Brittlebones (level 77) which will serve the purpose.
After a great many kills (I lost track after 23), the quest updates:
I have freed enough brittlebone skeletons.

- I should free the spirits of those who still stand guard over ancient posts.
This refers to the skeletons guarding the Courtyard in Karnor's Castle. It is a very tough and rather dull zone, and you will need a group in order to survive it. As before, hail the forlorn spirits to free them.
I have freed enough skeletons in Karnor's Castle.

Quest text:
I have freed the spirits as requested by Shul'da, and should return to speak to her.
Return to Shul'da in Jarsath Wastes (777, -20, 623); remember to activate your Eye of Thalger when you get near her location, or you will not be able to see her.
You have returned. What news do you have for me?
I have freed many trapped spirits, as you requested.
I was able to hear the voices of the freed as they journeyed to their eternal slumber. The TrueSpirit thank you for your act of mercy. You are indeed fit to walk the path destined for you.
Quest Complete!
Destined? Where is it you believe I am going?
You are going where you choose to. However, you seem to be worthy to walk in the footsteps of another great hero from the long past. Few mortals have the strength of heart, spirit and body to complete the journey. Perhaps you can be the one the TrueSpirit have been seeking since ages past.
I could not speak to that, but I am honored to help the TrueSpirit if I can.
An ancient threat has returned, and all of us - the living and the spirits - are now in terrible peril. Like the one before, you will be called on to act for the sake of all. Look at the stone now.
My... look! It glows anew? What have you done with it?
Nothing. The stone glows on its own. Remember what I said before about an object being a focus for energy elsewhere?
I do - you mentioned that the last time we spoke.
As I also said, that stone is little more than an ordinary stone on its own. The power that makes it glow does not exist within the stone itself... the stone is acting as a focus for that power. As the energy itself grows and the stone is fed, ever more brightly will it glow.
What power is that?
With time, I believe you will be able to answer that question on your own. There is much to be done now, and your journey must begin.
Very well. Where is it I will need to go?
Perhaps you should return to the one who set you on this path. There may be more he has to offer you.
I will return to Hollen then. My thanks, Shul'da.
You receive the next task, "A Sleeping Stone: The Stone Awakens."
