The Consequences of a Berserk Rage/The Responsibil
Honing the Lust of the Dragon's Temper

In the introduction, you found your way to the special instance of Dire Hollow, at (497.29, 1.86, -1141.55) in Nektulous Forest.

Zone in and prepare to start your Epic Quest!
Upon zoning in you will find yourself in a special instance named "Or'Kales Solitude".

Simply walk down the path to find and speak to Vettius Or'Kales.
Of course someone who lives in solitude doesn’t really like visitors, so guess what, he is going to attack you! But not before he tells you he is trying to rid the world of Erudites.
Don’t worry, you get to pick up the quest “The Consequences of a Berserker’s Rage” (or "The Repsonsibilities of a Berserker's Rage" if you are good-aligned) before any fighting begins.
Or'Kales is a level 80 single up, but was very easy to kill. He’s a wizard for Brell’s sake, what do you expect?

Once you kill Or’Kales you need to talk to his apprentice Morwynn.
Of course you did have to kill Or'Kales at a crucial moment in his spells, you know, right when the shadow men can step through the portal he was opening. The portal is just a little further back in the zone.
You have to kill 8 shadowed men; don’t stand near the rift unless you want adds, instead stand at the mouth of the cave and range pull the shadows when they pass through.
If they slip back into the portal don’t worry, just wait for the next one. They will roam over to the walls as well, but they simply disappear into the walls if you need a breather from the last battle.
They are all level 73/74 single ups.
Standing slightly back from the mouth of the cave, I didn’t have to worry about adds. You don’t have enough time between the spawns to stand near the portal. Stand too close and you will find yourself fighting two or more at the same time.

Go back to Morwynn, who is impressed and hopes you can stop the other tears in time to save Norrath.
Yes, there are more, outside the zone, that have been set free! You need to set out to find the tears and stop the shadows from consuming all of Norrath.
The first tear is in Pillar of Flames at the far west of the zone (1725, -206, -926). This is the same island where Simayek spawns. There is a portal up top with level 79 solo mobs. After 4 kills I was given the message to find others in Norrath, but the portal was still there so I continued to kill for the rest of the updates. Once I killed 12 I received the same message and the portal disappeared. The Thoughtbleeders are tough, with a lot of hitpoints; can attest to the fact they are a very long battle to solo.
From the above screen shot you have to jump into the burning sea and swim over to the island.
When you climb up the cliff face you will find you need to walk up the hill to pull the aggro, but you will need to take the battle back down the hill in order to not get adds. The wander, and wander a lot, and I had a few deaths do to soloing this section and picking up adds with massive knockbacks.

The second tear is in Kunzar Jungle near the City of Mist. ( -49, 149, -1042)The mobs here are 81 and 82 ^^^. If your group stands behind the tree and you let the tank pull the fight to you and you pull one at a time the battle is fairly easy.
One you have closed the tears you need to return to the Apprentice in Or’Kales Solitude in NF. He praises you for the hard work then sends you out to find 3 items, in the order given: a firewater crystal, a greenmist orb, and a “weapon from another plane”
To continue make sure you can speak Ratonga. You should be able to find language books in any starting city.
To start you need to find the Firewater Crystal. So you need to make your way to Freeport. You have to use the bells to travel within Freeport and go to Big Bend then make your way to the Sprawl, from there head to the Serpent Sewer, and finally zone into Edgewater Drains, first level.
Now that you are in Edgewater, you need to make you way to the Murkwater Alchemist “Vasily” (85, 33, 76).
Hail Vasily. She wants nothing to do with you and tells you to go away.

You will have to back away while looking at Vasily then go back. When you return the second time, she offers information in exchange for gold. You need to pay her 1 gold twice and you will receive the subquest, "The Mystery of the Firewater Crystal." for the needed item.
"The Mystery of the Firewater Crystal."
It’s a very simple subquest: acquire a flame emerald and some kedge gills. So he can make you your crystal. Of course he doesn’t know where you can find the items.
Head to Kunzar Jungle and the City of Jinisk. You need 40,000 faction with the city in order to buy the Flame Emerald from the faction merchant, “Dealer Zaynx.” The emerald is 1 gold 16 silver 64 copper. If you are like me, getting the required faction means you will be spending some time killing tigers for a while.

Purchasing the Flame Emerald from the faction merchant is easy enough, now you need to head to Chardok for the Kedge gills.

The gills drop off any mob over 80 in Chardok. At bare minimum, this means you will have to make it to the post on the second section of Chardok, as nothing in the entrance area is over 80. The update is a rare corpse loot; I managed to get mine on kill number 24.
Head back to Vasily in the sewers who will make the crystal for you. Mind you she won’t give it to you, but once she makes it she will sell it to you. You have to buy the Crystal from her for 1 gold and 96 silver.
Now that you have the Crystal, take it back to North Freeport, to Morwynn. She tells you there is a mystic "somewhere in Faydwer" that has the green orb. Aren’t you glad there are walkthroughs now?
Go to Butcherblock Mountains.

The mystic you need is in Butcherblock mountains in Fort Irontoe East by the name of Bofim Axeshadow (-309 173.09 -242.70 ). If you quested in BM you should remember the NPC with all the cats.
He knows what you are talking about but isn’t going to give you the information you want, instead he gives you a beer.
Good Alignment Berserkers: Drink the beer and talk to him again.
Evil Alignment Berserkers: He still doesn’t want to talk to you but the cat on top of the bookcase is now attackable. It’s a level 1 cat. Find a fun way to kill his kitten. Talk to Bofim again, and he is angry that you killed his cat, but is now willing to give you the information you want.
You need to go to Sebilis for the orb.
You have a choice of several options for the update. It is a drop and group loot, make sure your group knows what it is as it’s no trade and it would really suck to do the work to have someone snipe it from under you.
Option 1) Sathirian Dignitaries. They can be found on the top level in and near the audience room on the right side of the map.
Option 2) From the Apprentice in the secret room off the laboratory. There are other epic updates in this room so this is one of the easier groups to get. You need to click the candle at (-310, -27, 324) to open the secret room then the apprentice is in the very back at (-297, -25, 374) You will see a few yellow mobs on the way back, but everything is mostly white and blue, but still hits hard.
Option 3) Sathirian Litch. They can be found in the lower level in the jail. The easiest way to them is to invis and jump off the ledge and swim down the drain. Find someone who has done this before to guide you, as dropping out of the drains and not aggroing half a room takes knowing what the room/mob layouts are like. You also need some form of water breathing for this route.
Next step is to find the sword forged on another plane.... This is an auto update once you have the green orb.
You need to go to the Isle of Desolation, in Barren Sky. This is the same Isle as the port from Tenebrous Tangle. So you have a choice of routes:
Spires to Barren Sky:
( -340.89, 3.16, -634.96 ) in Nektulos Forest
( 1163.35, -25.51, 166.10 ) in The Thundering Steppes
Spires to Tenebrous Tangle (everything is grey this route, then use zone over to BS)
( -12.34, -46.79, -417.47 ) in Commonlands
( -2065.80, 12.22, -614.20 ) in Antonica
Go to Barren Sky, Isle of Desolation, and harvest "an ancient statue of The Queen of Air" (407, 291, -640) This is inside the Despoilers camp.

Go to Jarsath Wastes and hail Izzal Din ( -690, -109, -849)

He tells you that you need to "hunt beasts of legend that plagued Norrathians long before the rending" to find the instrument you need.
Go to Skyfire in Jarsath Wastes and kill Eldrig the Young (-1369, 252, 1654).

After killing him, get his body loot and put it into the skeleton next to his spawn point. If the bones are not there you need to wait for them to re-pop (15 to 40 minutes); you can't miss them. They are the large white mass on the dark brown ground.
Now, Eldrig the Young can be easily handled with a small group, even duoed if you are good, but you need a full group of 6 level 80s for the next step. A bard for power would have been really useful, as our entire group went power dead when Eldrig the Old was still at 25% life.

Place the no trade loot you received from Eldrig the Young in the bones and Eldrig the Old pops immediately. Eldrig the Old is level 83 ^^^ and has in his arsenal: AoE Stun, Knockback and Mez. Kill him to get the axe, that sounds a lot easier than it is.
Not only is he twice as big, he is more than 4 times harder.

Eldrig the Old drops the ax you are searching for, and your quest is almost complete.
Return to Apprentice Morwynn in the Or'Kales Solitude instance in Nektulos Forest. Bring a group along; everyone must be level 80 in order to enter the zone.
Hail Morwynn, go through the dialogue and he tells you he can’t be interrupted while he casts the spell and tells you to gather a group.
Hail him again and tell him you are ready to start a ring event. A portal opens, mobs come through. 83^^^ and they come through quick. Kill them until you get your update (approx. 5 min)
Having an Enchanter or a lot of dps in your group is highly recommended. Do not let the mobs get close to the Apprentice, because he will die when the mob casts an AoE; you would have to start the fight all over again. If you do fail, just zone out to Nek Forest and back in again for another try.
