Who has played the console version?  The PC version is coming out real soon now and I was thinking of getting it.

I did.  I enjoyed it enough to recommend it to someone. Sometimes its a little to sandbox ish and easy to forget where you need to go.   But if you just keep exploring you eventually stumble your way to the finish line.

Playing the PC version atm. I personally love the game. Graphics on Ultra-High are great. The dialogue and dialogue choices are good. Cut Scenes are good. Side quests are a bit repetitive, but do not detract from the game so far. (This is my first run-through with a Vanguard/Shocktrooper female using Charm), and I have a bad-ass Soldier renegade not far behind her.

While I take a rest from the MMO's (lots of reasons) for a few months, I will enjoy trying to unlock the various medals. Plus I play Oblivion on and off between. I may get Crysis and Assassins Creed some time over the next month or so, and continue with the Console games, till my jaded senses have recovered from MMO burnout. Wink

Funny that you mentioned Oblivion, Leon.  I just reloaded that on my machine last night and spent a couple hours playing.  I never got very far with it when I first played (back when it came out) but I enjoyed the earlier release Morrowwind.

I know there are a lot of consoles out there, and from what I can tell, there isn't much consensus on what's the "best" one.  Anyone have any opinions?  The last one I played was Nintendo 64, so I've missed a few generations, I think.  I was trying to sort through the consoles and compare features, but then I realized I also needed to look at the various games that are available, too.

I enjoyed 'The Witcher', though it is somewhat linear. as is Jade Empire another good console, and 'Two Worlds'.

Those are the ones I have played over say the past 6 months or so and got from Direct2Drive as downloads.

Crysis and Assassins Creed look good, though AC is I hear somewhat quest repetitive (though Immersive for my type of gameplay).

I have several Oblivion char's, and have become head of the Assassins Guild on one of them, which I found to be a decent quest line. I have another who has made the Knights of the Nine storyline. Have not done all the thieves or warriors guild quest lines yet, but will do eventually, as I only play of and on, when boredom hits from other gaming. One char is also progressing through the main quest line and is up to where he got the Armour for Septimus heir.

I strongly advise getting the Official game guide for Oblivion if not already, as its cheap enough and has everything you need to know.

Also Pull some decent mods for extra fun if need be. Can't beat having a personal Castle for when one of your Characters becomes a Knight after the KotN quest line. Wink

For now ME is still giving me Immersion and enjoyment.

I must agree with Leon - Oblivion 'Elder Scrolls IV is a great game, I played it to death reached the head of all the guilds on 1 toon, completed 'Knights of the Nine' and 'The Shivering Isles' Lots of good quests, humour & adventure. The best PC game I have ever bought. Reminds me....I must play it again, Thanks Leon Smiley

hehe glad I got your Oblivion taste buds going Smiley. I loved Daggerfall, Morrowind and do love Oblivion. There was one before those three too i believe, but never played that one. Lots of people got Vampire mods for Morrowind and they were very popular, probably a lot already for Oblivion too. I have only toyed with the Vampire side of the game.

I am like Wren, in that I am a Pack Rat, an impulsive gatherer and categoriser (not sure if that's a real word), hehe, so Morrowind and Oblivion were and are, right up my street. Must get a decent showcase mod, as the showcases in the castle mod I currently have, sometimes the items drop through them. Been a while since I rooted through the mods site. Smiley

ME has lots of armour types, though most are pretty redundant fairly quickly. I only managed to find one Quarrian (sp) Armor, but I know there are more (Must check the Wikki's to find out where they are, as I have a char set up to gather everything in game and not following the main plot till they do, or at least try Smiley). I played through to the end of ME with my Main char, and was impressed with the ending, and it does leave room for ME 2 (Have my renegade soldier for the alt responses and endings, and the dubious quests).

Also can't wait for the PC ported free add-on with the new enemy race. (90 minutes extra game-play slotted in I believe in that)

hehe, keeps me active. Smiley
