I am always surprised when people are made uncomfortable about serious and civil discussion.  It's not like anyone is forced to listen.  I come to these forums rarely check most of the new posts because they don't have any interest for me.  But every once in a while I find one that I like and post on.  Some of them become serious and maybe even heated.  But almost all of them remain civil.  I don't always agree with the other people posting.  I respect their opinions but i reserve the right to disagree.  But it's still curious to me how many people feel the need to change the subject or warn about people getting into "political" debates.

I don't like country music.  I know it's popular in many places and I know there are entire networks dedicated to playing it over and over.  I never feel the urge to listen to those stations because i know what I'm in for and I don't like it.  But I've never advocated trying to stop them.  It's a free country (no pun intended) and they are welcome to do...whatever it is they do.  Country music makes makes me roll my eyes and occasionally do that "puke" pantomime.  But the funny thing is, I don't have to listen to it.  Instead of trying to point out their lack of musical taste I can simply turn it off.

P.S.  I don't have any clever links to add here.  I'm not that web-savy  Smiley

Groovy piece of technology, though that does not whet my internal techno-love-meter at all.

Still, I wonder how Kermit the Frog singing Hurt would look on it.

See, that was on topic, at least for one post!

happy day,

Wren!
I'm shocked.
That was a disturbing video.
(which I promptly shared with some of my co-workers)
