Wow Brasse! Big Grats!!!!
I am very happy for you... Hopefully the clause won't keep you from hanging out at Fan Faire and the likes. Don't know what we would do if there wasn't a phenomenal Dwarf to lead the ranks of questers and such
Not to mention cutting into your comic creation times! You are one of the first sites I check each day and refresh on a regular basis.
Keep us posted on the evolution of this wonderful opportunity of yours. I will definitely get my oldest child a subscription if you are a part of it
He does a good job at translating and paraphrasing for me, lol...
Oh... and while you are in St. Louis... mind getting Laurell K. Hamilton's autograph for me... huh?
pleeeeze??? I will give you my first born!

Let me also add my congratulations to the lists. As others have said, I hope the new job won't cut into your comic drawing/writing to much, and that they will let you continue to do all the other work you seem to love so much. Hope things work out for the best regardless, and best wishes to you.

Congrats very much! It's sure to be a hit with you writing for it. I hope they let you do comics, too, heh.
You're only 3 hours away from me while you're in St. Louis. That may be the closest I've ever been to a computer friend, heh. I'll wave in your general direction.
Have fun and travel safe!

That's great, Brasse! Congratulations. I hope that you are allowed to let your amazing sense of humor shine through in your writing for the magazine. That would sell lots of copies!

Congratulations Brasse! I hope you will let us know when the initial issue is ready to go so that we can search for it.
And I hope to meet you at Fan Faire this year.

OK, I can finally start talking about the magazine more. I am on my first day here.
It will be monthly, $25/year. $6.99 newsstand. We are aiming for better distribution than Beckett has had (and obviously a more frequent publication schedule).
The first issue will be FREE at ComicCon (one in each convention bag), and I think that they are planning to give away Massive Gamer t-shirts with every subscription purchased there. I do NOT believe that issue #1 will be available on newsstands. I will try to bring home extra copies and happy to send them out in exchange for postage. =)
Now, back to the INSANITY that is putting together a magazine on short notice.

Congratulations Brasse! I have to echo Jasia's statements and hope that they allow you to do comics for the magazine. They were wise to hire someone with your wit and obvious talent and love of games. With you at the helm (or at least the primary) of the writing staff the magazine's sure to be a hit. I'll definitely see if I can scrape together enough for a subscription
.
Oh, are they going to have a demo CD and such with the magazine?

Big congratulations Brasse. I for one agree with your sentiments that print isn't dead. I have various stacks of games magazines and subscribe to 2 gaming magazines (well, 2 until Games for Windows decided to go online-only - Bah!). Good luck with the new job - I hope it all works out fantastically!
