I've joined a new guild for Warhammer Online: the Casualties of WAR.  The founding group are War bloggers, readers and commentors, but we are recruiting family and friends of the above.  If any of y'all have no guild plans for WAR, check them out here: http://www.casualtiesguild.com/index.php. Looks like there will be an Order and Destruction guild, on different servers so we can have alts in each.

Well, I was hoping the Innmates would all combine here but failing that I will check this one out. Any guild that Esri likes can't be all bad eh?  Grin

There aren't really enough "InnMates" to make a go of it in any game these days, so I think having InnMates who want to play together join a guild that someone strongly recommends is a good idea.

We can have our own little Inn on the edge of the town of Casualties. Next to the river, so that we can dump bodies when needed. Yeah.

Thanks Esri, I'll go post there... my job pretty much requires me to play WAR for at least a month. =)

at the moment I'm still leaning towards starting up a small sect of the innmates with whoever wants it.  I prefer a small guild feel.  However with the build in guild alliance system in war we will definitly look into starting on the same server if/when they announce starting server names.

I like a large guild for the chatter and opportunities.
That said, I tend to group with a small number of people as a rule... like any InnMates that may join, hehe.  It is surprisingly easy to be a guild within a guild, for all practical intents and purposes.

COW (how can you resist that acronym) will try for the same server as the OTG (Old Timer's Guild, whom I was with in LOTRO).

Anyone who wants to join COW... it looks like a good bunch of people, a lot of writers and bloggers. Definitely a cut above in literacy level, at least, hehe.  Be sure to mention The InnMates, Brasse and Esri in your application if so.

And yah, it's rough to be forced to play games for work. Oh woe is me.
It IS different from playing for fun though, believe me. There is always a test (or deadline) at the end.

I will watch both. I like a small guild too so will lean towards an Innmates guild first. I don't mind chatter, but the OTG was WAY too much for my liking.

I am pretty sure WAR has built in guild alliance support so would be pretty easy to align. One reason to join a bigger guild in a more pvp slanted game would be for the larger guild pvp type stuff like maintaining and protecting a keep that has your banners.

We shall see though I am up for having fun with folks so I would go with the flow.  One tricky thing about WAR is I think its going to be similar to how DAOC went where you will have to pick a server for a faction. I am guessing we are going to have some who really want to play order and some who want chaos so it will be interesting to see how this works out.

For myself I could enjoy either but would prefer to go chaos so I can play goblins!

Is anyone planning to play this weekend?  If so, what flavor and on what server?

I'll be going Destruction for the weekend. The Casualties are gathering Destruction on Kraka Drak. I'll be a Witch Elf named Ezri unless someone grabs the name before I get home this afternoon.

Elf Witch? Sounds tasty.  Wink

I created my first character on that server. He's a goblin shaman named Boktok.  I got up to level 4 before work this morning.  As usual my time zone will put me out of most of the action, I'm sure.  But maybe I'll see you in game!

I took my little green self (greenskin shaman named Boktok) and went exploring, found Ezri in Dark Elf land and had a little chat.  I saw Atherin, too, but I don't think he saw me.  He seemed to be a bit distracted being in the middle of a battle.

The pvp and rvr stuff is more fun than I had expected.
