It looks like it will be possible to play a 'normal' non-jedi char, which is good cause I am overloaded with all jedi games Smiley.

Frankly for a game in the star wars universe the old republic era makes a TON more sense than what SWG did. People want jedis lots and lots of them in the old republic they were FAR more common so seeing a ton of them bouncing around does not ruin anything.

I hope they do have some non jedi classes but I fully expect to see most people playing them.

I hope they do a good job with it I enjoyed KOTOR a lot and I think bioware is one of those companies with a good enough track record that they could pull it off.

I wonder if Bioware can do something to take the story part of an MMO to a new level, like they did with Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights.  Sadly here we are 12 years past UO launch and NPCs are still mostly static quest givers, vendors and mobs assigned to their zones. There is very little extra "life" in what are supposed to be big metropolis.

Remembering the scenes where Ben and Anakin were chasing the assassin through Coruscant in Attack of the Clones shows exactly what I'm talking about.  All sorts of speeders and (mostly) non-involved people / creatures make those scenes stand out. Now take those away and you have a chase through an empty skyline, then down on to a street with maybe only a few visible NPCS.  While I realize all that "eye candy" would be a strain on computer resources. that is what brings the worlds to life.

So... bring my worlds / unverse to life with compelling story lines and be very generous with the eye candy, or I will quickly grow bored with yet another cookie cutter MMO.

Has anybody tried Fable II yet?  I mention it because it has some new features that may be more along the line of what Decarian is talking about.  NPCs in towns have a large amount of dialogue that doesn't just loop.  As you run by them you may hear parts of a story they are telling.  It doesn't always have anything to do with what you're doing but it adds some life to towns.  I hope there will be more features like that in games going forward.

There is a limited amount of this in WAR.  If you hang out in the capital city for a while you might notice someone walk past you.  I suggest you follow them and see where they are going.  It has led me to some interesting conversations and mini stories between and about other NPCs.
