"[The] game will be an unprecedented, experiential progression through and celebration of the music and artistry of The Beatles," the game makers said in a press release.

Gosh darn it.  The music was just fine.  4 guys, right?  4 parts in Rock Band?

JUST GIVE US THE MUSIC!

Please, please, please just give us the straight music!!!!  Finally, there'll be some music I know and straight-forward drum, guitar and bass parts that I might actually be able to play?   Smiley

I hope they don't do some weird "experiential" progression.  I hope they just play the music.  I grew up with the Beatles and would love the opportunity to play drums or John's rhythm guitar while Tyr played George's lead!

In fact, Tyrannea?  If they include any seven of the following, I WILL go wherever the next orkfest is if you will play the lead guitar:

Chains
There's A Place
She Loves You
I Call Your Name
Any Time At All
I Should Have Known Better
You Can't Do That
I'll Get You
Tell Me Why
I Want to Hold Your Hand
Thank You Girl
Please Please Me
All My Loving
Devil In Her Heart
Can't But Me Love
Hard Day's Night
If I Fell
I'm A Loser
You're Going To Lose That Girl
And Your Bird Can Sing

Then we have to get Wren and Bhinder to do their John and Paul impersonations while Vince or Brakk plays the bass or drums.

Yes, I know I sound silly.  If we played a decent, "I Feel Fine," or "Help," I'd probably choose to transmogrify right there.

If we could do the 3 part harmonies of "Yes It Is," "That Boy," or "Every Little Thing," that'd be fine, too.

I'm really excited about Rock Band having Beatles tunes!

And as long as I've made an idiot of myself: I got a hint of something about Rock Band Two's drums.  Do they make less ambient noise when you play them?  I always thought the banging of RB one's drums was over-loud in reality, unless you had the music turned WAY up.

Drums are drums... seriously. They are always going to make noise, unless you sculpt them out of FELT.
The RB2 drums do make less noise, and the ubery ION drum kit for RB2 is a must for anyone who likes to drum in this game. Brakk loves his set.

I can hardly wait for the Beatles pack. I assume it will be sold as a standalone game to maximize revenue, but I hope that we can load it into our x-box hard drive with the other songs.

They will just play the music, I am sure. They have been pretty true to original music in the past, or as true as you CAN be with a fake guitar/bass with 5 colored buttons, hehe. The drums are pretty spot on of course, and vocals as well.

Did I say I can hardly wait?

Yay, this is exciting Smiley  I am all about this - lead guitar, signing, drums, you name it, I will try playing it if it means I can play Beatles music!

Kwee, I love your taste in Beatles songs.  Smiley  My sis and I grew up on my mom's Beatles' 45's and LP's. Smiley  I even like the long, drawn-out, double-tracked but not quite the same note "Iiiiiiii..." at the beginning of "I Should Have Known Better."  I haven't heard their version of "I Call Your Name"; however, I love the Mamas and Papas version of it so I'm sure I would like theirs too.

But I don't own Rock Band.

I cannot begin to tell you how excited I am about this.  As Tyraenna can vouch for, I am a HUGE Beatles fan.  She and her sister were raised with their music...on CD in the house, in the car, on CD players and IPods as well as my attempts to play their music on guitar.  Actually got to SEE them (Unfortunately not HEAR them) at both Shea Stadium concerts, saw and heard (thank GOD!) many Harrison and McCartney tours.

While I definetely agree wth your list of songs Kwee, I just can't single out any of the songs in their catalogue...I love them all! That's what made them great. Personally, I'm looking forward to playing the Abby Road songs...my favorite album...in the game.  This announcement, incidentally, has made up my mind as to what game I'll be buying for my new XBOX...GH lost out when the RB crew got exclusive rights.

To quote a phrase earlier in this thread..."Did I say I can hardly wait?"
