OK, that is nifty.  Really cool.  I just want to play with it!  But, I do wish I had seen a price somewhere on that page.  Or perhaps I don't.  I am sure it is expensive.

There are more and more interesting tools using creative usage of LCD screens now which is allowing for some pretty nifty tools like this.

The "art" looks pretty squidgy at this stage. I am still extremely happy with my Wacom tablet (the ubery kind that you draw right on).

It is cool that this sort of thing is under constant development.

At this point it exists only as a concept.  I suspect the design firm is floating an idea to see if there is enough interest to sell it to someone to build.

Yeah, there is a lot of talk about multi-touch screens getting sensitive enough to actually pickup on the individual bristles of a brush and the pressure applied by the artist.  Very cool things are a-brewin' in the artist/tech interface.

That sort of feel is already possible with the Wacom tablets. My pen is pressure and angle sensitive if I choose it to be. There are literally millions of brush types available, many of which mimic "brush strokes" and different media very well. It's alllll in the settings.

I love my Wacom tablet. I'd give up my phone and tv before I gave it up.
Maybe even beer.
Maybe.

If you come visit, I'll even let you try it. I have an old one I travel with, but this shiny new one (ok, a year old) is the kind where you draw right on the display and it is.... oh... so.... amazing. I'd never risk it in travel. At least, not till I have enough money to replace it and a new version comes out with even MORE bells and whistles!

I meant there is new technology coming that will detect the actual hairs of the brush.  So, you can use normal artists brushes and pencil tips or whatever from a jar near your pad.
