Much as this thread is now outdated (probably) I would just like to take this opportunity to trumpet the benefits of drinking orange juice.

I can tell you that I drank a LOT of Orange Juice, munched on extra Vitamin C tablets (yeah I know any excess is washed right out of the body but I wanted my MAX CONTENT), used Zicam and a half gallon of DayQuil and NyQuil.
Only time can heal a truly horrid flu like this one... two weeks later, I am still coughing and suffering a bit of lunch congestion, but the worst is far behind me (and I've been drawing comics again, hehe).

Glad you're on the mend.  Grin Mucinex works pretty good, have you tried that?

If I were you I'd try Lucozade tablets. Yes, I know it isn't a qualified medicine, but I once had FEVER, and I'm pretty certain that fever is worse than flu, even a bad one (not meaning to belittle you or anything Brasse) and all I did was take a few (all right about 5) in place of meals, meals being out of the question, what with all the projectile vomiting. Projected time off = 4 weeks. Actual time off= one and a half weeks. I kind of wish it hadn't worked, cause I had to go to school again, but hey, school was almost, ALMOST preferable to being THAT ill. Whilst we're on the subject of plague I once got really badly ill on CHRISTMAS DAY!! I mean COME ON what kind of sick joke is that?

That kind of thing would be bad karma for doing something wrong. I did nothing wrong. =(

I believe the term is "turnabout is fair play."
You do a lot of mocking yourself, Ereb... don't make me bust out the quotes.

Any proper (and by that I mean debilitating) flu that I have ever had has included a fever.
It is part of the body's way of trying to kill the virus, by superheating the system.

So while they are not the same, and fevers occur in a lot of illnesses, they are not entirely disparate.

Point taken Brasse. I retract all mocks, except were they were deserved. I'm getting seriously worried that I'm making everyone on this site seriously dislike me =(.
Yours trying not to irritate anyone.

You'll find that people are more tolerant than you might imagine. They also tend to agree to disagree, rather than post flames.
I kinda like it here.

I have no factual evidence, but it seems to me that in these and other guild-like forums I've frequented (as opposed to general community forums), the level of mocking has declined since 2004 and definitely since 2000.  Mocking amongst friends has mostly always been appreciated and there were a couple of moderators in the past who were very popular, partially because they were so good at it.

But mean-spirited political mockery ala Limbaugh, Olberman, Maher, Coulter, Franken, et.al., has become so polarizing and bitter that I think people shy away from it now - particularly in this textual format where the accompanying smile or friendly rib-poke is missing.

Meanwhile, Ereb, take heart.  Some of the grief coming your way might be "messin' with the noobie."  After all, we don't know you well enough to realize just how big a jerk you really are.  Smiley

I'm KIDDING!!!!  Smiley  Smiley  Smiley   I honestly couldn't resist that last remark; in context it just scanned so well.  (And I'm going to do my darndest to smile at the remarks I might get in reply.)  Smiley
