So, I got online late tonight and saw that Wren's words in Instant Messenger were: "coming down fast but I'm miles above you."

1) Name the song with those words.  (Extra credit, what "family" is associated with this song?)

While we're at it, here's a few more, to test if you're a Beatlemaniac: (name the song)

2) I suddenly need you.

3) Sail the ship.

4) And the same goes for me. . .

5) I've been searchin' for a girl.

6) I'll try to make it shine.

7) When you find yourself in the thick of it.

Cool For I know love will never die.

9) Some kind of innocence is measured out in years.

10) In my mind there's no sorrow.

Oh dear, I feel terrible. I only know the answer to the FIRST one!! Eeek! This means that either a) I don't know the words to the songs b) I don't know the songs at all c) one of my mutant powers is fading with age.

I just hope it's not C.

happy day,

p.

I think I'm with Wren here. Number one is "Helter Skelter" by the Beatles about the Manson "family" (I use the term loosely). Am I right? Do I win  Grin

Perr is right! YAY! Smiley

I could google the rest, but that would be cheating. Some do sound familiar. Are they all Beatles tunes?

I recognized 2... #5 is Anna.  #7 is Martha My Dear.

*edit:  After I posted that I thought of another one... #4 is All I've Gotta Do.

Ok back again.  Now I can't stop thinking about Beatles songs, thanks Kwee.  I keep wanting to say that #1 is from Got to Get You Into My Life... but then I think it's 'suddenly I see you' and not 'need you'.  When do we get the answers?Huh? Wink

Carynne, you're right on your three guesses.  But, GAH!, you're also right - it's: "Then I suddenly SEE you; Did I tell you I NEED you."

I wasn't gonna post the answers, since I figured everybody knew these.  Smiley  But if I screwed up one, I may have screwed up others.  Here's what I think they are:

2) I suddenly need you.  "Got to Get You Into My Life"

3) Sail the ship.   "All Together Now"

4) And the same goes for me. . .  "All I've Gotta Do"

5) I've been searchin' for a girl.   "Anna"

6) I'll try to make it shine.   "Anytime At All"

7) When you find yourself in the thick of it.   "Martha My Dear"

For I know love will never die.     "Every Little Thing"

9) Some kind of innocence is measured out in years.   "Hey Bulldog"

10) In my mind there's no sorrow.    "There's A Place"

And is anyone else surprised that "And Your Bird Can Sing" came out as late as "Revolver" (British version)?  It's a very melodic and 3-part harmony song of John's that always sounded to me like it "belonged" 2 or 3 albums earlier.  But according to Lewisohn, it was recorded in April, '66.
