(this one is odd) . . . the more I know, the less I understand.

And that, my friend, is true wisdom.

And it's also a line from a Don Henley song. *snicker* Tongue

I don't like his music, so instead I'll offer this one from the RHCP:

The more I see, the less I know, the more I like to let it go.

Anyway, no one has yet suggested a decent, mid-range (features and price) phone for me!!!

happy day,

I understand the allegory of which you speak of between Kilpch and Bose.

I do want to explain something.  I grew up during the 80's and 90's, I was born in '75 but I cant remember anything before the '80's.  I remember the movie "the day after" does anyone else remember that one?  I remember the fear that the communist were going to attack and kill us all.  I remember the bombing in beruit.  I remember the time my mother pulling me out out of a house of my friend because of the rumors of a mass murder of black children, and that friend was black. I remember the berlin wall falling, I remember the explosion of technology in the '90's, I remember my father giving me his '76 plymouth volare because I had work for 3 years moving lawns and didnt have a dime to show for it.

Mostly I remember when my father had his heart attack. he was looking for a better job when in the middle of an interview it hit him.  he had no health insurence (he counldnt afford it cause he was out of work).  but the hospital and some chruches paid for part of it and he left the hospital.. a changed man.  He tried to get back into the owrk force, but he couldnt, no one wanted him to work for them cause if he had another heart attack he could sue them or so they thought. so my father work as a dishwasher.. as a biscuit maker.. ass a maintanace person.. even though this guy had experience installing and designing avionics in F-16 fighter jets.  he made one, slight of a mistake and has paid for it for the rest of his life. literally.  I remember enron when my father's entire retirment disappeared over night. he kept on working at those jobs because he felt he had no choice.  we lost a house, we lost cars, we were in bankruptcy more than twice. and yet I never went without clothes and food (till later in life).  I was always so hard on my father, cause he was too stubborn to ask for help from anyone.  He hated the chruches, he hated my grandmotehr helping us out during those times.  He had to provide for us or he didnt felt like a person.  he suffered two more heart attacks but he did have insurence, and now is retired about to buy his own house with what little money he saved up for retirement.
continue.....

Last year my mother passed away... she had a small dot of cancer on her lung and after 6 months it got to her brain and cutt off the blood flow.. we all hope she die peacefully in her sleep instead of the pain we think she must have had suffered.  the reason she got cancer was cause she was a smoker.  but no one knew she had it till she passed out on july day and stopped breathing.  when they took her to the hospital they said that if they didnt operate right away that she would die within minutes. She had no health insurenace.  they , my parents couldnt afford it.  the churches and my family came through again but it was too late.  al the hospital could do is give her some time.  The question I asked was why wasnt this detedted before, why were there no signs.. the Doctors who I talked to say there must have been intense pain and discomfort, but she said nothing.  Why? Why would she do such a thing?  the answer I now know is cause she didnt want to worry my father anymore than he had been for the past 20 years. she refused to cause him anymore hurt by asking for help when they didnt have the money.
my parents are ardent conservatives.  they believe you should not ask for help but people should give of their own free will.  the governments job was to protect its citizens not provide for them.  this is why they hated asking for help from anyone much less form the government.  I tell you this partly to get it off my chest, you guys seem to do that for people for some reason.. the other is cause it has a direct correlation with what I see going on.  My parents fought for thier whole lives to do the right things for us and for themselves.
Last year, before my mother passed away, they voted for Obama.  Why? why would these adent conservitives vote for a liberal like him?
Cause they said, the republicans are no longer conservitives and are lead by bigots and hypocrits.  When I see these people walking with signs that say take back our country or go home you monkey... I dont see conservatives... my parents were conservatives... these people.. just like those that make such spitefull comments on Newegg forums.. are bigots and hypocrits.  sad thing is.. that all I see now.  that is why I am scared.  cause their no one to stand up for what my parents believed in.
