Do I look that stupid... err... in need of a "challenge"?
Instead, I am an enabler. That means I get to watch someone else slowly lose their minds, and not have to deal with the pain and suffering myself. I just give Wren all my treasured loot and watch her burninate it in seconds flat.
What is Transmuting?
It is a special tradeskill in EverQuest II which enables the TM to take nice loot, break it down into components that can then be used to make other stuffs. Doodads and widgets for your armor, weapons and jewellry.
That's the theory, anyway.
Wren took up Transmuting because she is the most stubborn person I know. That is a pre-requisite, aside from some 300 platinum. Or more. She may have to sell a kidney (if Elfinks have more than one to start with).
I will just bide my time and feed her Adept spells, slightly dented weapons and shiny things until her head asplodes, or she gets to that magical (350) number.
Then Kunark will be released, and her 200 decibel whimpering will be heard for many miles as she struggles for MORE skill ups.
"Currrssse youuuuuu level increeeeease!"
It's fun to watch.

Time to promote my favorite source of tradeskill info, Niami Denmother's EQ2 Traders: Read about Transmuting and weep.
They have forums where Transmuters can wail in four-part harmony as well. Listen in if you dare!
Oh yeah... the REAL question is:
So what's worse for your health, Transmuting or trans-fats? Tell us, we need your brilliant opinion.
