This tale of woe dates back to opening week of the EverQuest II Rise of Kunark expansion.

Remember that? LAG. OVERCROWDING.

There was a rush to level, to grab, to get "discoveries".... all the stuff that I try hard to avoid. So there I was, minding my own business, harvesting. Yeah right.

Now, the effect of lag is such that often you simply do not see other players (or big gnashy mobs) until a few seconds after you stand still. So there I was, harvesting a choice outcropping of Ryjesium ore, when suddenly this person pops into view....

You acquire 3 ferrite cluster from the ryjesium node.
Shayr says, "nice"
(I thinks to meself.... huh?)

(Now I am mildly annoyed. For one thing, I never saw him before he spoke, but I brilliantly surmised that the terms "nice" and "muppet", when used together, probably meant "you node-stealing jackass", which I am not. For another, there are a TON of nodes. You could double the players in zone and still have plenty to go around. I didn't care that he mined one of the three tries at the node I was at.)
You tell Shayr, "I was here first as far as I can tell, ye rude thing."
Shayr tells you, "erm right)"
You tell Shayr, "There is plenty to go around, ease off."
Shayr tells you, "yes but thats no excuse to node jump) np , some people never learn"
(Now, Oi hates folk whut watches me fightin' a mob fer tha right ta slorp up a glowy, an' then they steals it out from under me, but this was a lousy NODE. Not only that, Oi am really polite aboot nodes an' never elbow in on one. Besides, Oi was purty sure Oi was thar furst...)
You tell Shayr, "I got 2 of the 3 harvests from the node, which would generally indicate that I was there first. Take it easy. I don't ever start on nodes that I see someone already at."

I had honestly never heard "muppet" used as an insult before. All the muppets I know are cool characters from my childhood, and endlessly entertaining. I still love the Muppet Show. I actually had to look it up.

ps. It should be noted that the encounter was so brief that I don't even remember what Shayr looked like, in terms of class or race. The image used in my comic was invented to fill in that gap, hehe. I think I got the grumpy sentiment right at least.
