It is really, really hard to do comics when I am visiting with Wren. She can always find ways and means to distract me from my workaholic ways, usually involving some sort of alcoholic beverage. I think I am still working through hangover #2 and about to start building hangover #5.

ANYWAY.... On this visit, we decided to add to our tattoo project. The plan is to have similar tattoos along our upper arms.

I was not happy with our first project; while I designed them and thought they were pretty classy, the workmanship left a lot to be desired, with uneven lines and raised areas (Wren's artist was a lot more talented).

This time, well before Wren's arrival, I dragged the Troll round to every tattoo shop in Orlando (ok, I maybe skipped the ones with armed drug dealers out front), and looked at a lot of portfolios.

The Troll mostly tried to stay conscious while in close proximity to so many needles. I could hear him grinding his teeth as he waited. He will never get a tattoo, but if he did, he'd be blissfully passed out throughout the process.

I have decided that I really like designing tattoos. I have always enjoyed line art, and adding color just makes them more fun. I am quite surprised at how cavalier many people are about what they have inscribed onto their skin for all time. Whatever would possess them to settle for something "sort of" what they want?

I am happy to say that some 3 hours after we went in to Chrome Lotus Tatoo (Orlando, FL), both Elfink and Dorf are extremely pleased with the new tattoos.

Now there is just the nasty oozing, seeping, crusty, icky nasty bitey burny I can't believe I accidentally fell asleep on that side and had to peel my arm off the sheets with a ripping sound part to deal with.

Time to open another bottle of anaesthetic!

ps: Wren and the Troll told me I had to include the designs here. Let me start by saying that she specifically requested the tufts of silly hair be added to the monkeys. Who am I to argue with the delusions of the Elfink?
