Every irate, outraged gamer who ever complained about how the useless, illiterate, uncaring, pathetic DEVS screwed us all over had better be getting their resume together. You know you can do it better than those evil bastards, right? Yeah. Uh huh.

SOE is hiring for a variety of positions.
So is Blizzard.

One of the positions currently open at SOE is that of Community Manager. You know, the guy everyone loves to hate, the dude who stands at the gate between the ravening masses and the devs locked up in their ivory tower in the sky where they sip nectar and eat ambrosia (or pizza, if it’s Friday). The one who has to respond when the monkey poo hits the fan, and who needs to be on speaking terms with everyone.

The current CM, Aaron “Gnobrin” Bisnett is moving on to other, much more cooler things within SOE, things that don’t involve having garden refuse, Cheetos bags, dead cats and empty cans of Red Bull thrown at him daily. His dry-cleaning bills were outstripping his wages.

The Community Manager position has been posted for a little over a week… so yesterday I asked Craig “Grimwell” Dalrymple if they’d received a lot of applications. I know they’ve numbered in the several hundreds when posted in the past. Yeah, never try having a serious conversation with Craig. The quote in the second panel is DIRECTLY from our discussion.

The truth is that it will take them some time to make a giant stack with the resumes and then start the long process of considering people for the task. I know a number of extremely qualified individuals who have already applied; I am really glad that EQII, while not the new, shiny game on the block, is still attracting a lot of great people who really want to work with the game, to better it for all of us.

Y’all better treat them nice, or you know… sour beer and a thwap upside the head.
