Guess Who's Coming To Dinner?

Brasse -- 2008-06-17 14:20:28

You are cordially invited to dinner... especially if you are a Halfling.

Poor buggers. There are several little Halfies slowly being cooked to death in Runnyeye, and NO ONE CARES.

Nope, we just ignore there plaintive cries and anguished waving and take quests from the Goblins who are cooking them.

Anyone ELSE (of the good races) see anything wrong with this?

RUNNYEYE THE GATHERING QUEST RUNDOWN:

All of the quest goals are marked on my new Runnyeye: The Gathering map. There are a couple of small changes to be made, but it's pretty accurate.

ANCIENT SECRETS OF THE GOBLIN CHEFS

Chef Bugglegoon offers Ancient Secrets of the Goblin Chefs.
In an effort to meet the tastes of the Runnyeye and Broken Toe goblins, Bugglegoon wants to learn how they cook. However, he doesn’t want to actually talk to his rival chefs. Instead, he sends you to steal their cookbooks.
- The Clan Broken Toe Cookbook is in the northwestern corner of the zone, lying on the floor (93, -110)
- You’ll find the Runnyeye Cookbook to the south, on a table (115, -35), tucked into an alcove in a room crowded with displaced goblins. They are arranged in large groups, so be prepared to take on at least 8 at one time.
------------------------------------------------------

GROMMULITZ EVERYTHING SOUP

Talk to Chef Grommulitz to receive Grommulitz Everything Soup.
The Chef is far too busy (read: cowardly) to go collect the rest of the ingredients he needs for his Everything Soup, so you are charged with the task.

- Five Fresh Desert Crawler Insides: these can be harvested from any Desert Crawler you may come across. Most of them are located in a single room, guarded by a pair of Sandscrawler Herders (-80, -140). The insides are body drops, which means that only a couple of groupmates can finish the quest on your first run.

- Five chunks of Grungetalon Spiced Meat: You can get this all out of a single trough in the Boar Pen at the north side of the zone; you’ll need to face a boss, Boarkeeper Malleg, who is a level 82 Heroic, not to mention a lot of angry piggies. The trough is on the right side of the room, against the wall (50, -205).

- Goblin-Prepared Kunark Herbs: If you took this quest at the same time as Ancient Secrets, you’ll pick up the herbs in the same room as the Clan Broken Toe Cookbook. They are in a small keg on the floor in the corner (100, -110).
------------------------------------------------------

QUESTS OBTAINED OUTSIDE OF RUNNYEYE:

If you talk to the Halfling, Murdtoe Burnbean, just inside the entrance of Runnyeye, he tells you of the other members of his Old Bog Mountain Unit, who have now dispersed to other lands. Each of them offers a quest that involves killing one of the bosses in the zone, so it’s best to pick them up beforehand. You do not have to talk to Murdtoe before seeking these fellows out. The good thing is that these quests are shareable with your groupmates, which will save you a lot of time if you send three people around to pick up one each.
------------------------------------------------------

WANTED BY THE IRONTOE BRIGADE

Broddock Stout is a Dwarf who has gone into service at East Fort Irontoe, in the Butcherblock Mountains. He can be found standing inside a squat stone structure (–357 165 –250).

Broddock will task you with Wanted by the Irontoe Brigade; while the doughty Dwarf has captured and killed many Muckflick and Grungetalon goblins, but one in particular has escaped and fled to Runnyeye. Burrtoe is his name, and he is now your game!

- Burrtoe the Gorged is in the north-central part of the zone, in a small room, surrounded by Halfling corpses (50, -205).
------------------------------------------------------

FOR KIESHA

Halin Bassan, a human, has exiled himself to the Outcast’s Ledge in Maj’Dul (–255 137 75).

This distraught fellow grieves for the loss of his daughter, killed by a Sandscrawler Chieftain. Although he tracked the Goblin across the desert, he lost the trail when it fled across the ocean. Halin has recently learned that the Chieftain has resurfaced within Runnyeye, and you are now tasked with exacting a father’s revenge, in the quest For Kiesha.

- Chieftain Siltsea is found within the region of Runnyeye known as “The Silting Sea”, an area filled with comforting sands by the Ro goblins (-25, -165). There are a lot of his people in the room with him, so clear it with care.
------------------------------------------------------

DOBBIN'S MAPS

Dobbins Fallvale is on duty again in the Enchanted Lands. His station is in a gate tower along the palisade wall just west of the Runnyeye Ward (218 14 –477).
He offers Dobbin’s Maps; he has had his satchel stolen by Captain Marrowgut, and it’s now your job to get it back!
- Captain Marrowgut is found deep in the northwestern corner of Runnyeye, in the Brokentoe Barracks. He is one of the higher level bosses, an 84 heroic.
------------------------------------------------------

Runnyeye: The Gathering offers several collection quests as well, recognizing that players love them. There are four regular quests, and two tome quests. On my trips through the zone, I saw 6 or 7 shinies each time, so it will take a lot of runs through the zone to finish these collections.
