I just crawled off the plane after a trip to Cryptic Studios for their first ever "Media Day"... but that is all I can say until a certain date, a few weeks from now.

We all know that Cryptic Studios are the folks who made City of Heroes/Villains, some groundbreaking territory for online gaming. They sold those ventures off to NCSoft and moved into roomy new digs in beautiful Los Gatos to work on new projects.

We also know that they are working on Champions Online, the next evolutionary step in the Superhero MMOG line.

Soon, you will find out a whole lot more about what they are up to. But not today. Nopers. My agreement reads something like SAY NADA TILL SIMON SAYS.

ps. Cryptic is also the company that holds the worst-kept secret in the game industry: the license to a space-MMOG that a certain other company that imploded left floating around like so much interstellar debris. That announcement is a little further off, and you can't get diddly squat from Cryptic till they are good and ready (I tried) - check the MYSTERIOUS countdown timer on the Cryptic page. If it looks a little familiar, that's cause it is.
