This newfangled commenting thing.

It SHOULD work, but it WAS developed by a troll after all. A troll that thinks using off the shelf solutions is somehow cheating and he simply MUST re-invent the wheel every time he makes changes to this site.
What a stupid troll.
What a stupid troll.
Congrats!

Congrats Brasse on the nomination and win. Here is my post to help test!

If I'd known you were unaware of your nomination, I would have told you. Somehow, though, I expect Brasse to be ominiscient as to what is happening in the gaming world. ;) I voted for you though. Although, Tome of Knowledge is great!

Pagination
Alluvian -- 2009-01-24 14:24:36
Just FYI... Pagination does not exist right now, so the more you post the longer this page will get.
Sometime soon, probably this weekend I will add a default X number of pages per screen and Next/Previous buttons. Then probably a little while after that I will give you guys and gals a dropdown to pick how many posts you want on a given page.
I was making so many foolish mistakes this morning that I figured I was better stopping while I was a tiny bit ahead.
My first priority is going to fix the horribly ugly problems that occur on some past commentary with runaway headers eating up the commentary. I suspect I will end up using 'bad form' and tables instead of using full CSS. It might be bad form but at least all browsers can figure out how to render a table these days. CSS is still pretty browser specific. I am also not very good at it, heh.
-EDIT-
I think I fixed the problem with the crazy header problems in the historic posts (accidentally putting WAY too much data in a hidden form field for the edit button).

Hehe thanks for this Brasse! You're not one of those has-been comic artists at all! Not in the least!
And for the record, I actually voted for your comic on the Greeny Awards! ;)

title says all I want to say! ;)
Congrats, Brasse!

Wow, congrats Brasse!
I like all your comics (I've gone back and read all the ones I could access), but it seems to me that the recent ones have been extra-special. I really like the way you drew Wren in this one. Her facial features seem so agile and active, even though it's a static drawing. I like the way her arm thrusts back in the middle panel, giving the comic a third dimension. Really great work. Next year you will win for sure! (Y'know, assuming we have some notice and get to vote for you...)

And The Winner Is...
Brasse -- 2009-01-24 13:39:53
I had to admit, my immediate thought upon seeing the email was that this was one of those come-ons for a site that would load up my system with viruses and adware and post nasal drip. I saw it happen to my hero Strongbad once, and I wasn’t about to risk it.
Then I thought to myself… well, they wouldn’t call it “thegreenskin” now, would they? It would be “freesexaporn” or “wowgoldunderadollar” or “lookyoungergetlonger,” not “thegreenskin.” So I went to look, and lo and behold, there was an actual site (causing the pennies to drop and me to say to myself, Ohhhhh THAT Greenskin, duh!), and there had indeed been a contest: The 2008 Greeny Awards.
I lost! Note: in Dwarven and Klingon lore, there are two places in any competiton: first place, and everyone else, heheheh.
There were actually a whole lot of categories, and in many cases, sites had been nominated that I was completely unfamiliar with. I wasted... err.. invested a good hour or more exploring these uncharted waters and had a great time doing so.
So thanks for the nomination, if for no other reason than I got to discover so many new and interesting Warhammer sites. I feel like a real dork. I have been so busy, wrapped up in my own little cave of to-do lists and obligations that I haven’t had a chance to get outside and smell the URLs for a long time.
When I got to the comic category winner's Tome of Knowledge site, I was surprised to read, “I can see why Brasse is in the list of nominations as she’s been a HUGE influence for the webcomic scene and an inspiration to me constantly (Plus just an all around cool person!)”
While clearly Mr. Moran has me confused with someone who knows what they’re doing… thanks for making me feel OLD. Like one of them has-been comic artists that people look up to. On the other hand, maybe I can parlay that into some cash. I’ma gonna add that line to my resume! If I quote it enough, people will want my autograph at Comic-Con!
Meanwhile, congratulations indeed to Greg Moran’s Tome of Knowledge and Pwnsan’s comics, as well as JoBildo’s Wartorn. Warhammer offers a wealth of comic opportunities, and it is great to see everyone else’s take on the game. I will now proceed to steal all your ideas.
I’ll second Moran’s suggestion to add MrMatthew to the list of nominations for next year. Just because his comics appear on the hosting site does not mean that they should not compete. Make it a cage match, where he takes on all comers!
And I’m ON to you all now. I\'ve been taking NAMES! Just wait till next year!
Meanwhile, tradition holds that the WINNER has to buy the next round.
*holds out her suspiciously large mug*
Guinness, please!
