Mapping with a stick & wet poo
Brasse -- 2007-04-05 13:16:00
I doubt many people follow my particular playstyle (cartography for the sheer joy of it), but I cannot be the ONLY person who is going buggy with the inability to log chat in game... yet the official forums are virtually silent on this matter, as opposed to multiple pages delving into relatively trivial matters that tweak my “shut the hell up” meter.
I can honestly live with the ;loc command (and have gotten used to the large volume of data that comes with using the old standby /loc).
Without chat logging, it takes me easily four times as long to create a map, such as the one of Thorin’s Gate that I am working on now. It will take far, far longer in the dangerous zones. It really is like trying to use a stick and some wet cow manure, as opposed to proper surveying equipment.
This is a purely self-indulgent, whiny cartoon, I’ll admit, but after 9 hours of working on one small map yesterday, I was pulling out my beard hairs. Therefore, I will make you all suffer as well. =P
Now, off I go to finish Thorin’s Hall, and post it later today.
Yer loyal Dwarf,
Brasse
Ps. Please join me in the "What the otherwise excellent game LOTRO still requires to be perfect" thread. I know Wren has a list of things already, she keeps meeping them at me in MSN at regular intervals.
