Alarming on so many levels.

Well, they do make all manner of horrific noises to be sure, but they will not prevent your vehicle from being stolen.
On a previous trip to see Wren, we were all bundled in her (then brand new) van, and somehow the alarm went off. And it continued to go off for a VERY... LONG... TIME.
We were on a crowded street surrounded by people. I was trying my best to look like an innocent hitchiker while Wren tried her best to shut it off. This involved much manual-page-flipping, random button-pushing and other voodoo maneuvers, to no avail. The Wrenlings seemed to find it all very amusing.
Nobody looked twice. Nobody. In fact, people self-consciously turned their faces AWAY as they walked by. They didn't want to see if we were some drug-crazed punks or hard-looking ex-and-future cons. Even when Wren decided that she may as well back out into the street and start driving home, nobody cared. They were just happy not to be involved.
Hell, I would have been happy not to have been involved!
So there you have it. You can safely steal all the cars you want, as long as you send us to do it.
