WoW, expansions are slow!
Brasse -- 2007-07-07 20:22:54
Since then, EQII Devs have produced three very good quality expansions*, three great little adventure packs+, and a lot of additional free content, including the recent free Estate of Unrest and Neriak/Arasai downloads.
In that time, WoW has managed one expansion, "Burning Crusade". O-N-E in the same two-and-a-half years. It is no surprise that people have already "finished" it.
I like WoW, quite a lot. Not as much as I like EQII, but heck, we all have our favorites. Part of why I like WoW is because I HAVEN'T finished it yet, but when I run my alts, it's the same ol', same ol'... unlike in EQII, where there are still SO many zones that I have never seen or adventured in.
So what is it that makes WoW so popular with the masses? My own buddies in the InnMates have a small but strong guild there, headed up by a great player and friend named Tyraenna.
I have posted her "state of the game" report for World of Warcraft, and then in the coming days, we'll talk about how our site is going to expand just a little to cover this game too... there are already a HUGE number of WoW sites, so our focus will be a little different and very personal in approach.
Till then, have a beer!
