At GenCon, at 3:30 every afternoon there was a crowd so thick that you could not pass. Not even if you had a flamethrower and a tank.

The culprit: the Warhammer Online beta contest.

That was the crowd awaiting the daily beta draw. A handful of invites were handed out each day, drawn from a large sack.

On the last day, the 4th one that found me in the midst of the WAAAAGH crowd, my name was drawn. It was a great moment. I entered that code like I had the final key to some holy relic.

And I waited.

It's a month and a half later, and no WAAAGH for me.
A number of my gaming buddies won Warhammer beta cards at PAX as well, and they are also.... waiting...

We know some people are in beta. We can hear the battle cries and occasional gouts of orcish blood fly across my view.

I now wonder just how far up the 400,000+ list of beta applicants these "beta invites" got us? Maybe there is a great conspiracy afoot. Maybe Snotlings have taken over Mythic's invite lists. Maybe someone spilled ale all over the top ten sheets and they buried the evidence so they wouldn't get fired.

Maybe... ~whimper~

Ok, enough of that, I have some wine to drink and EverQuest II'ing to do today!
