Runs Like Clockwork
Brasse -- 2007-10-08 07:18:46
It's not my fault. I blame Emeril. BAM!
We spent an long and amazing evening with some friends at Emeril's restaurant in Orlando. The food was incredible, and we ate at the kitchen table. This is the sole table they have right in the kitchen so that you can watch them cook, serve, and suppress curses regarding the damn toursists blocking the main route through their freaking kitchen.
Oh and wine. Mmmmm, wine.
The meal was stupendous, surpassed only by the bill. I saw it briefly and realized that our friends Barrick and Krissy probably took out a second mortgage to treat us.
After all that food, all that wine and the Blue Man Group show after, I was too far gone to finish the comic.
Being Saturday yesterday, I hope enough of you were in the same overstuffed, inebriated state and that you never even noticed.
The comic, right!
I often get running commentary from Wren in game, when we are not in the same place. On this occasion, I was off doing something, and she was messing around with Transmuting (in terms of cost of trade skills, about on par with eating at Emeril's, with much less sense of satisfaction after an hour).
Wren tells you, "DUDE! Chopper just killed Earl!"
Thinking I'd missed an episode of My Name is Earl, I was confused. I never miss the show. My incredulous response therefore was, "Huh?"
Wren tells you, "Chopper! He just zapped EARL!"
Now, that didn't give me any more information than I got the first time, but I finally recalled that Chopper was Wren's Clockwork Whirlygig, and that Earl was the name she gave to the ugly Billy doll that lumps around our Qeynos Mansion. "Ohhhhh," I said, "You sure he's dead?"
Wren tells you, "Well, he's not moving!"
I am sure that SoE would not let a pet actually KILL another pet, and was about to type that, when...
Wren tells you, "DUDE! HE JUST KILLED FANGORIOUS!"
Fangorious is my baby dragon, and I know he can breathe fire, so I figure Chopper must be some sort of uber, Transformers-style Clockwork; clearly one of the Decepticons. I was trying to look up Optimus Prime on my cell phone when...
Wren tells you, "He just tried to zap ME!"
Rest in peace, Chopper.
Some things you only get to try once.
