HOLY LEGIT VIRTUAL MONEY, BATMAN!
Brasse -- 2007-12-18 08:27:26
Livegamer.com to broker virtual goods for several MMOG publishers.
I haven't even had time to consider all of the ramifications of this announcement.
LIVEGAMER.COM
It seems so.... sudden!
For years now, I've been advocating that game companies sell their own virtual cash, in order to put the grey market bastards out of business.
Several companies (such as Puzzle Pirates) have been doing it themselves for years, and no "gold sellers" bother folk in that game.
Love it or hate it, the fact is that people WILL buy cash in their favorite games, whether it is for a new mount, a house or some uber armor. They WILL buy it, even when it is specifically against the EULA and TOS.
So let them buy it legit.
I admit that I am a little leery of the outsourcing of the trading to a third party, and I wonder why on earth SoE wouldn't simply add it as a feature to their existing Station.com store.
I'll see if I can get any comments.
This year.

ps. If this turns out to be a spoof, I'll be mildly annoyed. Off I go to camp the SoE official word spawn.
Meanwhile, I just KNOW you have comments. Spew them forth here for all to see.
