Once again we see a delay for Age of Conan, but this time it's a minor one. Two more months were needed for polishing the game, the new final release date is therefore 20th of May 2008!

This delay was not even hinted at the press event at Funcom last weekend; this was probably an unwanted but necessary delay. That said, the game looks great and plays great, and I can't wait to see how the final result is with two more months of polishing!

I am happy to see Funcom delaying the game like this. Too often developers race to push an unfinished or unpolished game through to the consumer to try and gain an edge on competition, so I see this as refreshing.

It may very well be that the problems are such that they affect the core game experience just now, and are fixing bugs found in Beta, or as they state, they are just polishing the game.

Time will tell how they manage to create a world that reflects the world of the Conan novels, and more importantly from a gamers perspective, one that immerses the player for some considerable time.

I wish them every success, as the world of Conan is a world I visited quite often in my younger days through the Conan novels, so I would like to see this game a winner.
