BETA!
Closed beta, but still… BETA!

Hordes of eager fans have been submitting beta applications to the great vaults at Warhammer Online. Join them now by clicking on the Beta link and filling in the requisite blanks at the official site. Rembembur tu spel gud.

Some time ago, Warhammer asked for applications by guilds to participate in beta. They received over ten thousand applications! The chances of getting in are slim for any one guild - I cannot even imagine how the WAR team is going to make their decisions. I hope that they will pull names out of a hat.

Stuff to do while waiting to get into Beta:
- play one of the many other good games out there. I personally recommend EQII and LOTRO.
- Paint your neglected Warhammer miniatures; you know, the ones you bought three years ago.
- Practice yelling WAAAAAAAAGH!

@&#% Witch Hunters

The WAR devs released information about the Empire class, "Witch Hunter". Now, I could care less about Empire classes, except for the fact that I am an inveterate fan of Chaos (and seeing as Skaven are NOT in the release plans for Warhammer Online, Chaos is my next best choice)… and Empire are my sworn opponents. Them and their fancy matching armor and not even a zit to make them differentiate.

Witch Hunters are very likely to figure in my future one way or another, so let's see what's up with them. Seems that true to tradition, they dress funny and have no tolerance of those who are "different". What's a mutation or dark sorcery among friends, I ask you?
They are probably the most politically incorrect of the WAR classes, and therefore I feel justified in making fun of them.

Let's see what the scoop is… tireless foe of dark magic, merciless judgement… "it is understood that most Witch Hunters would sooner burn an entire village to the ground than see a single follower of Chaos go free." Sounds like people I went to high school with.

In the Witch Hunter's arsenal of persecution are two types of attacks - Interrogation and Judgement. They fling around holy water and other 'blessed" sacraments to make our lives miserable. Bah, I say!

Interrogation involves a number of debuffs to sap the opponent's strength and will, and then the Witch Hunter follows up with devastating attacks in the Judgement category. They use pointy weapons and cowardly pistols, and excel at sneaky positional attacks from the back. Mmm-hmmm. I will make note to squish them into gooey pulp early on then.

It looks like the Witch Hunter, being agility based, is stuck with light armor. We'll see what happens when I step on one. Hard.

Like Chaos didn't have enough trouble, what with keeping up with the latest mutations and curses… now we have these fellows to contend with. At least we can console ourselves with the fact that they still look like Pilgrim Bob, while we look far cooler.

Still…. Life just got a whole lot harder for Chaos and other Lords of Destruction.
Bully for you, Order!

If you are a Warhammer fan and have any plans to play the online version, I strongly urge you to subscribe to their monthly newsletter - it is literally STUFFED with tasty filling and crunchy bits. It is the best and most in-depth newsletter I've ever seen from a game. Looky here, I'll even link the sign-up page for you!
