======================================================
So here I am at the SoE FanFaire, assembling my armor (it is sort of finished now, hehe) and I realized that there were a LOT of dragons on it. Big ones, little ones, oddly shaped ones. The latter I blame on the red wine I had at the SoE reception last night.

I love making this stuff, so I thought I might offer a little skill-testing event for attendees and people at home who want to guess.

HOW MANY DRAGON-KIN APPEAR ON MY ARMOR?

I use dragon-kin as a catch-all - this includes dragons, wyrms, drakes, wyverns and ouroboros.

HOW TO ENTER:
Send me a PM on our forums (link at left) with your tally. Do not tell me. Do not write it on a slip of paper and try to hand it to me. Do not call me. Do not post it on our forums. SEND A PM.

DEADLINE:

I'll give you till midnight EST on Wednesday, August 8th, 2007 to send in your count. That means that at 12:00:01am on August 9th, I will stop accepting entries (this last for people who are very niggly about time zones and what midnight means, hehe).

Miscellaneous Rules:
- One entry per person.
- If more than one correct entry is received, I'll have someone sober and reputable draw a winner.
- Contest void where prohibited by Cthulu.
- Check your local state regs to see if they let you enter this sort of thing. It is a game of skill, not chance, so I hope it is allowable everywhere.
- I don't care where you live - if you live in Zambia and win, I'll send you the prize.

THE PRIZE:
One Dwarven drinking horn, handcrafted of real horn (I'll have to use cow horn, not dragon horn, as the latter are a lot harder to catch), decorated with tooled leather and embossed pewter-coated tin or copper. There will be a dragon, and I will customize it with the name of your choice. The horn will be approximately 12" long, and will come with a carrying strap.

UPDATE, August 6th: I have decided to make a second horn, this one to be drawn from ALL entries received. Your odds are pretty good on winning this one!

(disclaimer: this contest is not run under the auspices of SoE or the SoE FanFaire, aside from the fact that this is the best place to see my armor in person for an accurate count)

PICS!
I realize that these are not terribly good (I could not convince Wren of the ubery camera to come along) but I'll give you some hints:

- it is an odd number. Aside from the top of the helm, the armor is symmetrical; if a dragon appears on the left, it also appears on the right.
- there are no hidden dragons hidden on my boots or under my skirt, and none inside the amber gems.
- count the heads. Where there is a dragony head, the rest is swirling around there behind it.
- the actual number (which really surprised me) is more than 20 and less than 40
