General QuestFarmer Maggot thinks that Violet went to the bandit camp herself, and wants you to find her.
STEPS:
1) Search for Violet Underhill.
"The ruffian's camp is west of Bamfurlong. You must ford a stream at the top of a waterfall to enter the camp, which is set on the heights at Narrowcleeve."
From Bamfurlong, head west and a bit north, to the top of the waterfall. You will see the hoodlums across the river, and a path that leads uphill (33.8s, 66w). Cross the river and start slaughtering brigands! Keep on the move, for respawn is fast. There is a path to the left that leads behind the camps. While this is a good shortcut for another quest, do NOT take it for this one; Violet is in the first camp you will come to on the right-hand side. As you approach the area where she is being held, you will get a message telling you: "you hear muffled cries from the closed cart" (34.9s, 66.9w). After you speak with her and select "continue quest", you will need to defend Violet against the ruffians.
2) Escort Violet Underhill to safety. Once she is safely out of the camp, down the hill, and across the river, she will take her leave and your quest will update.
3) Talk to Mat Harfoot.
4) After you speak with them and select "Finish Now", you get your coin reward, XP, 2 Lesser Celebrant Salves and 3 Roast Porks.
