To Avert a War

Epic - Prologue Elven Quest

Langlas has agreed to avert a war between the Elves (who cannot "easily recognize the difference between dwarves") and the dwarves by helping you rescue Avorthal. Bring your friends for help!

STEPS:

1) Talk to Langlas and rescue Avorthal. He will ask if you are ready to "Travel Now". Select this option and you'll go to Instance: To Avert a War.

2) Speak to Langlas. Now you will need to defend him, so be alert!

3) Defend Langlas. You will need to keep Langlas alive through a fight at the gate (multiple mobs, level 11), a fight just inside the gate (multiple mobs again, level 11 again), and then Skithi Blackhand, a level 12 Elite. Lastly, you will fight multiple mobs at the fire outside of the gate. Langlas is quite aggressive, and likes to rush ahead. I strongly recommend you have a minstrel in your group, dedicated to healing Langlas. After these battles, Langlas will rest, and your quest will update.

4) Speak to Langlas. You will be defending Langlas again.

5) Defend Langlas. This time you will have several waves of single mobs (level 11), or a single dwarf with one or two hendrovals. After about 6 dwarves and several birds, Langlas will rest again. He warns that the toughest part is ahead.

6) Speak to Langlas. You will be defending Langlas again. The next area holds a signature mob, Hakon Ironfist. Before Hakon is attackable, you will watch a cinematic sequence, where you learn that the Dourhands have taken Avorthal to Kheledul. When Hakon is nearly dead, 3 of his ally hendroval birds will come forth to attack (levels 10-11).

7) Speak to Langlas. Select "Finish Now".

8) Talk to Langlas and then select "Travel Now."

9) Talk to Langlas.

10) After you speak with them and select "Finish Now", you get your coin reward, XP, Langlas' Leggings, Daeronn, or Gollolf, and you will now be able to take the next quest, Rescue by Moonlight.
