INSTANCE: A Road through the Dark

Introduction Quest

You sent a letter to Celandine Brandybuck, but have yet to hear a response.

STEPS:

1) Talk to Postman Took (straight ahead).

2) Took tells you the letter was not delivered because of the "ruffians" in Archet. He says you can deliver the letter yourself, if you wish.

3) Leave the post office.

4) Travel down the road until you come upon a brief cinematic sequence with Bounder Boffin and the Black Rider.

5) Speak with Bounder Boffin (33.4s, 68.3w).

6) Search (by double-clicking) the nearby satchel, and then take the weapons you find. Equip them from your inventory.

7) Speak with Bounder again, who is desperately trying to find the key to unlock the door.

8) Follow him through the door, then kill two spiders.

9) Talk with Bounder once more, who is nervous about the Black Rider returning. Follow Bounder.

10) While he cuts through the spider’s webs, you will need to kill three of them.

11) Follow him again, and watch while he attempts to unlock the farm door.

12) Speak with Bounder, and learn that you will need to "brave the Stock Road on into Woodhall". Follow Bounder some more.

13) You will enter onto a brief cinematic sequence where the Black Rider returns and is then chased away.

14) Speak with Gildor, one of the elves that saved you from the Black Rider. He wants you to talk to Amdir.

15) Talk to Amdir, who urges you to travel along with him to Archet, for your protection. Select "Finish Now", and you will be transported to Archet, where you may take the next quest in the series: INTRO: Amdir’s Request.
