General Quest

You can find the Hobbit Toly Brockhouse (32.8, 61.6) standing by the Old Forest gate in Crickhollow, on the east side of Buckland.

He speaks of the strange days that have come to the Old Forest, how the creatures have all begun acting odd... even the trees! He swears that tree roots moved to trip him, causing his sprained ankle.

However, Toly still has work to be done in the Old Forest, and enlists your aid. Here is a map of the Old Forest to guide you.

As with all Old Forest forays, I strongly recommend you do not venture in alone unless you are foolhardy or over level 20.

1a. Collect seasoned lumber

Head into the Old Forest and follow the road as indicated on the map. Go straight through Bonfire Glade, but take the right branch before you reach Bald Hill. You will soon see a large, neatly stacked woodpile (32.9s, 60.0) from which you can collect the lumber by right-clicking. You may have to clear a few annoyed Oak-roots out of the way first.

1b. Collect savory mushrooms

These are found throughout the Old Forest, usually along the eaves of the forest wall. They are small, dove grey in color, and glow when your cursor hovers over them. Keep an eye out for them as you travel.

1c. Collect a bucket of maple sap

Go further east along the main road to Bald Hill, and right at the top, you will see a large maple tree (31.7s, 59.1w). Of course that makes Bald Hill not so bald, but I digress... the tree will have a few taps in it, and you merely have to right click on one to collect the needed sap.

2. Return the collected goods to Toly.

Retrace your steps westward, back through the Bonfire Glade and out into the welcoming safety of Crickhollow once more. Toly will be very pleased, and offers you another task!
