Chapter 07: Horn-Call of Buckland

Epic - Book I: Stirrings in the Dark

Lenglinn thinks you may be able to find out what the four Nazgul learned by speaking with a hobbit named Baggins in Crickhollow.

STEPS:

1) Investigate Crickhollow. Lenglinn says:

"It is a cottage surrounded by a high hedge almost directly southeast of the Buckland Gate."

Go down the hill from Lenglinn's camp, following the road southeast towards Buckland. Once you are through the gate, head directly southeast, jumping over small hedges, and you'll soon find yourself in Crickhollow. There is one entrance into the enclosed hedge area where you will find Fredegar Bolger (32.3s, 61.9w). Speak with him. He says he did not tell the Black Riders anything, but then mumbles something about a ring. After you select "Continue Quest," you'll need to defend him.

2) Defend Fredegar Bolger. Four level 12-13 crabans arrive in quick succession. You will have a brief respite, before four more come. With both waves, the last bird in each group will fly away after it is badly hurt, and become unattackable. After you kill this wave, Fredegar says that some flew off into the Old Forest.

3) Talk to Lenglinn. He wants you to return to Strider to get advice on how to deal with the birds that went into the Old Forest.

4) Talk to Strider, back in his room at The Prancing Pony in Bree-town (29.5s, 51.3w).

5) After you speak with them and select "Finish Now", you get XP, Daerechor, and you will now be able to take the next quest, Chapter 8: Master of the Wood.
