Chapter 10: Into the Barrow-downs

Epic - Book I: Stirrings in the Dark

NOTE: Tom wanders, and may be found inside his house, standing outside it, or wandering around outside.

Tom tells you where he saw the birds, now you get to pay them a visit.

NOTE: You will require help on this quest, though how much depends on your level, class and skill! My party consisted of a level 19 and a level 17 Guardian, and a level 19 and 17 Hunter, and we were not in any danger.

STEPS:

1) Find the crebain. Tom says:

"Go north up the path and follow the Old Barrows Road, then south within the barrows wall along the forest eaves. Hey do! Merry do! And there you'll find them! Watch for the lady dreary."

At this point you will surely find Brasse's Northern Barrows-down map very helpful.

The path that Tom speaks of starts at: 32.5s, 57.3w. It becomes Old Barrows Road at: 32s, 56.6w; follow this east and north until you come to the crest of a hill with some standing stones. Then turn south, and follow the cliff to the forest's eaves (you will soon be able to see the forest towering above you). You will be elevated a bit, keep heading south in the Northern Barrow-downs area until you see Andraste, a level 16 Elite, Servant of Angmar, surrounded by five Craban Scouts, level 15-16 (32.7s, 55.8w). You will need to speak with Andraste, who speaks of her master Othrongroth, and who then becomes aggro the instant you click "Continue Quest".

2) Defeat Andraste.

3) Talk to Tom Bombadil. So, head back to Tom's house, by going north/northeast along the rocks (the rocks will be to your left heading back). Once you see a path to the south, take it, this is the Old Barrows Road. Follow it south until you reach Tom.

4) After you speak with them and select "Finish Now", you get your coin reward, XP, either Tallang or Taronn, and you will now be able to take the next quest, Chapter 11: Othrongroth.
