Rangers and Rogues

General Quest

Grimbriar wants to learn more about the brigands and Sharkey. In order to do so, you'll need to take the medallion to a ranger he knows.

STEPS:

1) Bring the brigand's medallion to Saeradan. Grimbriar says:

"He has a cabin in the woods. It's a ways out of Bree to the north and a little to the east."

Take the West or North Gate out of Bree, and get on the road heading north. You will pass some farmland on your left (west) and soon see a windmill on the same side of the road (25.7s, 53.3w). When you see the windmill, that is when it's time to head to the east and a bit north to the cabin, which you can see from the road. Saeradan is standing just outside his cabin (25.5s, 52.9w).

2) Defeat a Southern Leader or a Southern Lieutenant and search him for clues. Saeradan says:

"There is one small brigand band encamped nearby in the fields to the southwest on Thornley's land. I think it likely that you may find evidence of their leadership upon one of the leaders or lieutenants, if not Sharkey himself. No doubt any of the camps in the Bree-fields will suffice for your search."

I happened to be doing the quest for Sharkey's Plan when I got an update for this quest. So, there are likely other places you can find a Southern Leader of Lieutenant, but I will tell you where I found mine. The camp you want is called the Brigand's Watch, and it is at the northern tip of the Southern Bree-fields (27.1s, 56.8w). There are actually two entrances to this camp, the location given is for the western entrance. The eastern side is quite close to Everclear Lakes, and has only a few more enemies to kill than the western entrance (26.8s, 55.6w). Either way you will be heading uphill, into the fort proper. There are two alcoves, if you come from the eastern entrance, take the one on the left; if you come from the western entrance, take the one on the right (27s, 56w). You'll be attacked by a Southern Lieutenant and his thugs. On his body you'll find the brigand's note, and your quest will update.

3) Bring the brigand's note to Saeradan.

4) After you speak with them and select "Finish Now", you get your coin reward, XP, and you will now be able to take the next quest, Shadow of the White Hand.
