General QuestThe Mayor has gotten complaints about a haunted alley, but none of his staff want to check it out. This is where you come in, ghost-buster!
STEPS:
1) Investigate a ghost in Bree. Graeme says:
"Just take the road southeast from here. A small alley will turn off to your right not far from the South-gate. Follow the alley to some old ruins, and you should find the place where the ghost was reported."
You will need to wait for nightfall, since the ghost has not been seen during the day. These directions are quite good, and I cannot add too much to them. The ghost is named "Lost Shade", and is northwest of the Hunter Trainer (Flambard Took, at a dead end) (31.8s, 51.1w). Speak with Lost Shade, and he says:
"The ring...return the ring...Beneath the barracks gate...The black rock...hidden by they black rock..."
2) Find the lost ring. Follow the road back to an intersection, and head north. You'll pass through the Woodsman's Gate; head to the northwest. Next you'll pass through the Bree-town Hall area; continue traveling to the northwest until you pass through the Mud Gate. Now go to the Black Rock, which should be glowing a bit to the northeast from the Mud Gate (31s, 52.5w). Double-click it to find a ring, and you'll get a message stating "collected the shield brother's ring."
3) Return the ring to the shade. The ghost is quite pleased to have one less task to complete.
4) After you speak with them and select "Finish Now", you get your coin reward, XP, and you will now be able to take the next quest, Shield-Brother.
