Bone Man
General QuestLost Shade is disheartened that the "Bone Man" prevented you from freeing his shield-brother. He wants you to find and kill the Bone Man.
NOTE: Killing the Bone Man was a breeze with this fellowship: levels 19: Hunter, Guardian, Captain, and a level 17 Minstrel, and a level 16 Captain. Your mileage will vary.
STEPS:
1) Defeat the Bone Man. Lost Shade says:
"I believe the Bone Man is somewhere in the southern reaches of the Barrow-downs, but in sooth I know not just where he may be found. Perhaps someone in this town has heard of him and can tell thee more than I."
He continues:
"Please search for the Bone Man and destroy him. Alas, I do not know if he can be destroyed by a single warrior, even a mighty one, so thou should take allies with thee upon this quest."
To get to the Southern Barrow-downs from Bree, take the Greenway (the long north-south running road in Bree-land) to the Andrath zone, and head off the road toward the mountain. You will see a barrow-looking thing, which is where you zone in to the Southern Barrow-downs (34.9s, 53w). You will usually have to fight a wight before zoning, and the some more once you enter. Once inside, follow the wall south to the Ost Gorthad zone. You will soon find the Bone Man (35.6s, 54.2w), a level 18 Elite with 1,989 morale, standing on a platform giving a soliloquy. After you kill him, you get to witness all the souls you have freed, including the Shield-Brother.
2) Talk to the Lost Shade.
3) After you speak with them and select "Finish Now", you get XP, Codhringor, and either The Bone Man's Guards or Bone Man's Band.
