Epic - Book I: Stirrings in the DarkTom will take you to The Great Barrows, though he urges you to take friends along.
STEPS:
1) Talk to Strider. As you get close to Strider's room inside The Prancing Pony in Bree-town, you get a message telling you the door is locked.
2) Talk to Barliman Butterbur. You'll find him just inside The Prancing Pony. You learn that Gandalf himself has instructed Barliman to send anyone looking for Strider to Gandalf's room. Barliman says:
"It's up the stairs just beyond Strider's room."
3) Talk to Gandalf. Gandalf tells you that he will deliver your news to Strider, and then he gives you a goal:
"This burden I place upon you in the name of the Free Peoples of Middle-earth: Hinder the Witch-king's plans, if you may. Whether east or north, I bid you good fortune. Farewell."
4) After you speak with them and select "Finish Now", you get XP, Malbella, you will now be able to take the next quest, Foreward: Aiding the Order.
