Fireworks for the Festival

Special Events Quest

You have one hour to visit all of the Summerdays festival sites and buy the racial fireworks and bring them back to Robert Greenverge at the Breeland Festival Grounds.

Additional info entered below by Brasse:

This is a special quest offered during the Summer Solstice Festival, June 20 - July 10, 2007.

Robert Greenverge stands in the Bree Festival Grounds (north of Bree-town, at 24.6s, 51.5w. To get there from Bree-town, head out of the West Gate, travel north on the Greenway (main road) until you are near Saerandin's Cabin. Turn right (east) there and head past the cabin, up the short hill. You will soon see the playing field, and a little further, to the north, the Festival Grounds.

Robert has a grand celebration planned and asks you to collect fireworks from all the different races, within one hour! In return, he offers you the "Grand Finale" Summerdays Fireworks.

Before accepting, be aware that this quest will cost you 35s, 20c for the fireworks, and at least 3s for horse travel.

1. Collect Dwarf-fireworks
2. Collect Elf-fireworks
3. Collect Man-fireworks
4. Collect Hobbit-fireworks

You can collect the fireworks in any order, so you may as well start by picking up the Man-fireworks from Alger Hazelhurst, who is standing right beside the quest-giver. How convenient!
Man Fireworks: 8s 80c

You will make use of the very cheap (1s) Swift Travel stable routes to move quickly between Bree-land (West Bree stable), Thorin's Hall (Thorin's Gate stable) and Duillond (Celondim stable). If you have your own horse or money for the shorter horse rides as well, go for it, but the quest can be completed easily enough without! I ran it at level 12 with 20 minutes to spare, while taking quest notes!
If you need a look at the stable routes, you can find them here.

Run to West Bree and take the Swift Travel mount to Michel Delving. (1s)
You can take the overland route, but it's much more expensive and actually takes longer!
Run northeast toward the Party Tree, which is a short distance north of Hobbiton.

Glad Goodbody, fireworks vendor, stands near the Party Tree north of Hobbiton 29.8s 71.6w
Hobbit-fireworks: 8s 80c

Run back to Michel Delving stable and take the Swift Travel mount to Thorin's Gate. (1s)
Head north and a little east, up the great steps and enter Thorin's Hall.

Huni is at the back of the cozy inn found under Thorin's Hall (see the map if you are unfamiliar with the location of the inn).
Dwarf-fireworks: 8s 80c

Take the Swift Travel mount to Celondim (1s) and run north to Duillond. You can take the regular horse route from Thorin's Gate to Duillond (5s) but it takes longer!

Dringil is at 24.6s, 93.1w, just southeast of the stable in Duillond, in a small hollow.
Elf-fireworks: 8s 80c

Run back down to Celondim and take the Swift Travel mount to West Bree (1s).
Hop off as soon as you finish zoning to avoid town-lag, and run north to the Festival Grounds to hand in your fireworks to Robert Greenverge.

Enjoy your Summerdays Fireworks!
Here we see them as launched by a fire-stuffs-professional, Alluvian:

WARNING: the firework shoots off at a low angle, and you must set it off out in the open, far, far, far from trees or buildings, or your beautiful and expensive firework will end up obscured and not visible to anyone, like mine was. Even though I was at the road some distance from Saerandan's Cabin and the surrounding trees. Very disappointing.

Luckily Alluvian agreed to squander some of his silver to do the quest as well, so we got screenshots! Hurrah!

Here are the various racial fireworks, in case you have way too much money and buy extras – the effects themselves are fleeting, but more dramatic in game, very difficult to capture in a screenshot:

There are also a number of more basic fireworks in various colors, sold at 6s each from all of the above vendors.

You can, rather than run around to all the party sites in an hour, take your sweet time enjoying each party and pick up the fireworks as you go. Just make the Bree Festival Grounds your last stop & pick up the quest once you already have the goods. Then you can turn in the quest in less than 60 seconds!

Special thanks go out to Ruviane for providing this quest writeup!
