Dances With Dwarves

Special Events Quest

Galmi is a champion dancer among Dwarves, where stamina is the key to success. He can teach anyone how to dance like a Dwarf, if you are willing to follow his instructions!
Find him in the inn under Thorin's Hall (see this map if you have not been there before)

His lessons run about once every twenty minutes; when he is rested and ready, the quest ring will appear over his head. Take his quest and pay attention, for soon he will walk over to the brightly colored dance rug nearby and will begin the rehearsal.

- Wait for the Dwarf dance-celebration to begin (it starts 5 minutes from when Galmi begins to offer the quest)
- Don't leave the dance area
- It is important to keep Galmi targeted at all times – this way, he knows you are paying attention (and you must do so to complete the quest).

When Galmi moves to the dancing rug, he'll say, "The dance will begin now! You must follow the steps I call out!"

You will have to be pretty fast on your feet… errr, fingers.
When he says "Dance one", he wants you to /dance1. Just follow along carefully and you'll do fine! You will have plenty of time to type in the emotes.

You can also key up /dance, copy it (highlight and ctr+C) and then simply hit enter, Ctr+V and the right number.
Some people like to enter /dance1, /dance2 and /dance3, then use enter > shift > up-arrow to access them. I just find it too easy to hit the wrong one.
In either case, be sure to practise first, because if you fail the dance, that 20 minute wait seems very long!





The order for the dance is 1 … 2, 3 … 2, 2, 3 … 3, 1, 3.
As you can see, the dance is divided into four sections. You have ten seconds to complete each set; the timer will appear on your quest tracker.

"Ok, good, take a breather."

"Now follow me in doing the second dance." /dance2
"Dance three is the step here." /dance3
"Ok, good, take a breather."

"Now follow me in doing the second dance." /dance2
"Now follow me in doing the second dance." /dance2
"Dance three is the step here." /dance3
"Ok, good, take a breather."

"Dance three is the step here." /dance3
"Look at me and dance step one!" /dance1
"Dance three is the step here." /dance3

"Great job! Wonderful! You have all been part of the festival-dance! We will dance again in 20 minutes!"

If you have managed to dance the steps in the right order and without stepping on anyone's toes, speak to Galmi again and hear his congratulations. You are thereafter able to remember the dance and use it any time! Simply /dance_dwarf when the spirit moves you!
