Dances With Elves

Special Events Quest

. Nedhrien is a beautiful Elven dancer, who is willing to teach anyone how to dance like the Elves do in celebration, if you are willing to follow her instructions!
Find her at in Duillond, north of Celondim in Ered Luin. Nedhrien stands at 24.6s, 93.1w, in a small hollow immediately south-east of Duillond's stable.

Her lessons run every twenty minutes; when she is rested and ready, the quest ring will appear over her head. Take the quest and pay attention, for soon she will begin the rehearsal.

- Wait for the dance-celebration of Elves to begin (it starts 5 minutes from when Nedhrien begins to offer the quest)
- Don't leave the dance area
- It is important to keep Nedhrien targeted at all times – this way, she knows you are paying attention (and you must do so to complete the quest).

When Nedhrien moves a few steps south to the dais, she'll say, "The dance will begin now! You must follow the steps I call out!" Be ready!

You will have to be pretty fast on your feet… errr, fingers.
When she says "Dance one", she wants you to /dance1. Just follow along carefully and you'll do fine! You will have plenty of time to type in the emotes.

You can also key up /dance, copy it (highlight and ctr+C) and then simply hit enter, Ctr+V and type in the right number.
Some people like to enter /dance1, /dance2 and /dance3, then use enter > shift > up-arrow to access them. I just get confused, and never have trouble simply typing in the emotes. =)
In any case, be sure to practise first, because if you fail the dance, that 20 minute wait seems very long!


The order for the dance is 1 … 2, 3 … 2, 2, 3 … 3, 1, 3.
As you can see, the dance is divided into four sections. You have ten seconds to complete each set; the timer will appear on your quest tracker.

"Look at me and dance step one!" /dance1
"Ok, good, take a breather."

"Now follow me in doing the second dance." /dance2
"Dance three is the step here." /dance3
"Ok, good, take a breather."

"Now follow me in doing the second dance." /dance2
"Now follow me in doing the second dance." /dance2

"Great job! Wonderful! You have all been part of the festival-dance! We will dance again in 20 minutes!"

If you have managed to dance the steps in the right order and without stepping on anyone's toes, speak to Nedhrien again and hear her congratulations. You are thereafter able to remember the dance and use it any time! Simply /dance_elf when the spirit moves you!
