General Quest

Hunulf explains that his people were able to salvage one item when the goblins drove them out, and that is a statue. Hunulf has recently learned from a visitor "that the statue lay at the heart of problems facing us." He wants you to collect it and bring it to the visitor.

NOTE: This quest shares a pre-requisite quest in A Greater Theft with another quest, Weavers Beneath the Ruins.

Also, you will certainly need friends along for this quest. I would suggest you have a balanced party (meaning at least one tank, one healer and one DPS, with the other three slots rounding out your group) of players in their low-to-high 20s. Of course, your mileage will vary. Special thanks to Wilma, Cashel, Silifaira, and Kwee, who assisted myself and Brasse with this quest!

STEPS:

1) Find the Statue. Hunulf instructs you:

"You will find it in the goblin camps that now lie furthest east in ruins of Minas Eriol. Take the statue to an outlet on the northeast corner of the ruins. One of the Eglain will be waiting at the outlet and will receive the statue from you. The statue is heavy enough that you will not be able to defend yourself while carrying it, so you will want to bring trustworthy friends with you."

To get to the ruins, head southeast from The Forsaken Inn; you will soon find a path to follow. The path curves gently around a mountain, and when you have a choice of going north or east up a hill, head east up the hill. Continue into the ruins, and take one of the bridges that bring you to the other side (where the wargs are, and some grassy hills).

Keep heading the same direction (that is, AWAY from the entrance to the ruins), and look for a bridge to cross, but don't take the large wooden one, that leads to Nishruk's territory (35s, 37.9w). Your success will increase dramatically on this quest if you follow Brasse's incomparable map of the route you'll need to take.

On the bridge, you'll start fighting level 19-20 Elite goblins, and that won't end until the quest is over! Once you've crossed the bridge, go to the northeast to enter this ruin, in an area called Ost Laden. Now you're facing north, and you've got some more baddies to kill: a White Hand Ridge-Fighter and a White Hand Strong-Arm.

Take the first right (to the east), and after killing yet more Elite goblins, go around the corner of the ruin to find the Eglain Crate (34.7s, 37.6w). This whole time I was looking for a statue, so it was a bit odd to find a crate instead. Still, one of your group will need to pick it up, and it should be someone that will not be detrimental to the group if they cannot fight. This person gets to carry the statue, and hope that their group doesn't die while they try to get to the Eglain contact.

2) Carry statue to Eglain contact east of Ost Laden. Carefully follow the route listed in the map above (thanks, Brasse!), and make your way to the Defender of Ost Guruth (34.4s, 36.9w). The person in your group that is carrying the crate should talk to the Defender, and this will update everyone's quest. The Defender is very pleased, and tells you to return to Hunulf.

3) Talk to Hunulf Munce.

4) After you speak with them and select "Finish Now", you get your coin reward, XP, and either Munce's Ring or Munce's Masher.
