Black-Fire, The

General Quest

Aggy now wants you to find and destroy all of the Orc Black-Fire crates.

This quest can be long and difficult, depending on your group. We tried it with myself, a 29 Hunter; Brasse, a 29 Guardian; and Grif, a 27 Captain. We died a few times, and I know we *could* have completed it, but it was wearing us down. The sheer number of mobs requires smaller groups (or ones without a healer, like us) to be patience, but not too patient, for respawn is rapid. I think a similarly leveled-trio that included a healer, tank and some DPS would have no trouble with this quest. For us, we recruited some help, and enjoyed success! Rounding out our group (which made it TOO easy): Risi, a 27 Minstrel; Maligant, a level 26 Lore-Master; and Kwee, a level 30 Hunter.

STEPS:

1) Find the Black-fire on the northern hill. Find the Black-fire on the southeastern hill. Find the Black-fire on the southwestern hill. Aggy tells you:

"I know the Orcs have camps on three hills in the Nan Wathren. These hills are connected by rope bridges in the heart of the valley. I suspect that more Black-fire can be found there. We must destroy it if we can. It seems that open flame cuases this foul powder to explode, so it would be wise to use fire to destroy the crates."

Aggy also suggests you bring along some friends "to defend you while you destroy the crates." Take the same route to Nan Wathren where you checked the Black Fire Chest, and follow the path downhill. Continue moving ahead in the valley area; there is really only one 'path' to take. Careful, there are many mobs (level 23-25), and a number of them wander about.

You will eventually come to an area where you'll see some hills connected by suspension bridges, and a lookout platform with a Marksman on it. Once you see this, head north, and cross a bridge (16.2s, 47.8w). All of the mobs in this area will be Elite, in the same level range as earlier.

Keep following the path and you will soon see the torch and the northern Black-fire crate (16.5s, 46.9w). Pick up the torch and touch it to the crates to get your update. This crate is somewhat in between the two other crates you need. To get to the southwestern crate, backtrack a bit to cross a bridge (16.5s, 47.3w). Head west, and when you have crossed the bridge turn right and go up a hill. From there you should see the southwestern crate and a torch nearby (16.7s, 48.1w). Repeat the procedure with the torch here, and then go back to where you found the northern crate. Head east, and cross the bridge. Turn right after crossing; the southeastern crate is just right down there (17s, 46.7w).

2) Talk to Aggy Digweed.

3) After you speak with them and select "Finish Now", you get your coin reward, XP, and you will now be able to take the next quest, Half-Orc Schemer.
