Collecting the Bait

General Quest

Nibs is worried about the wolves roaming his fields. Normally he does not put a lot of stock into what Hal Gamgee talks about, but Nibs remembers Hal mentioning a giant wolf. Time to check out the story!

STEPS:

1) Talk to Hal Gamgee. Nibs says:

"You might find him near town centre."

Head west from Nibs to find Hal near the mailbox (23s, 67.2w). Hal theorizes that it is the local elk population that are luring the wolves into town. You will need to bait the "big white one" with some elk meat.

2) Collect elk meat. Hal tells you:

"A herd of young greensward-hind is usually grazing in the old orchard in the north of Oatbarton. You should try hunting there for the elk-meat."

Oh, the sadness of having to kill the sweet, non-aggro, peaceful, level (27-28) elk! Worse, I had to kill FOUR before I got the meat. Ah, well, they are not far north of town, and they taste like chicken (22.7s, 67.3w)!

3) Bring the elk-meat to Hal Gamgee.

4) After you speak with them and select "Finish Now", you get your coin reward, XP, and you will now be able to take the next quest, Setting the Trap.
