Long-Horns

General Quest

You'll find Gilmar standing outside a house on Gatson's Farm, north of Kingsfell and east of Esteldin.

Gilmar informs you that Gatson's cattle herd "could use some new blood." To that end, Gilmar wants you to find a young aurochs.

STEPS:

1) Find an aurochs-yearling. Gilmar elaborates:

"Wild aurochs would do nicely, but the bulls are far too aggressive to drive into the pasture. So what I want you to do is to pick out a good-looking yearling from the wild aurochs herd not far to the southeast."

He continues:

"A young aurochs should be pretty docile…just don't get in the way of any of the bulls and you should be fine."

I found the yearling east and south of where Gilmar stands (11.2s, 44.4w). As soon as you click on "Continue Quest", you'll need to begin escorting the yearling.

2) Escort the Aurochs-Yearling to Gatson's pasture. You will see a message: "The Aurochs-Yearling trots off ahead of you." The yearling will wander one way, then go back and wander another way, and then head another direction, before finally ending up near Alwin Walker, Gatson's farmhand.

You will certainly have to fight some Orcs (level 25-26) along the way, though I did not have more than two at a time. Make sure you get aggro off the Yearling; it is fairly fragile. After you come close to Alwin (10.9s, 45.2w), he will tell you:

"Good job! Don't worry, I'll take care of that yearling calf."

3) Talk to Gilmar.

4) After you speak with them and select "Finish Now", you get your coin reward, XP, and Gilmar's Gloves.
