Heritage of Gilmar

General Quest

The Stone Marker is not an NPC, but an actual, well, stone marker within a small ruin. It is just a tad east of Ost Lagoros, and on the upper part of the "R" for "Annundir" on your in-game map.

You read the marker and it says:

"This land is granted to Bardulf Gilmar and his line, now and forever, in recognition of his valiant deeds. Eamur, son of Eamil, Prince of Gondor, T.A. 1975."

STEPS:

1) Seek Bardulf Gilmar's heir. The rest of the quest text states:

"The surrounding land is barren and abandoned. If Gilmar's heirs yet live, they may not be aware of their legacy."

You'll find that Gatson's farmhamd is named Gilmar, and he is the heir you seek. He is not far southeast of the mark, on Gatson's Farm (10.3s, 45.6w). Gilmar does not wish to leave his master Gatson, and further he cannot take land if he does not know how it was aquired in the first place. He sends you to talk to the Ranger Orthonn to find out more information.

2) Talk to Orthonn. Head northwest of the farm and you'll find him on top of a wall, in a place called Ost Lagoros. On your in-game map, he is smack dab on top of the "D" in "Annundir" (9.4s, 47.3w). Orthonn is sad to tell you that he does not know about Gilmar's ancestry. However, Orthonn instructs you to head east to Esteldin and speak with Istuienn, who "keeps watch over our archives there."

3) Talk to Istuienn. Once you are within Esteldin, keep heading east towards the back of the town. Istuienn is standing in front of a building (9.6s, 41.1w). She tells you what she knows (that the land was gained during Eamur's battle with Angmar at Fornost) and agrees to make a copy to give to you.

4) Bring the chronicle excerpt back to Gilmar. All ends well, he has decided to partner with Gatson, and they will farm on both of their lands.

5) After you speak with them and select "Finish Now", you get your coin reward, XP, and Gilmar's Robe.
