Tainted Living, The

General Quest

NOTE: You must have completed Chapter 08: The Red-Pass in order to be offered this quest.

Radagast is concerned about how the swamp in Agamaur has been corrupted. In order to determine how Ivar did this, Radagast will need some samples of something living there, and he wants you to get them.

NOTE: Agamaur is a tough place, even if the mobs are several levels lower than you. It is best if you head there with a full group, or go with a smaller, well-balanced group, and take your time. For your comparison, here was our group make-up: Myself, a level 33 Hunter; Brasse, a level 31 Guardian; Risi, a level 30 Minstrel; and Grif, a level 29 Captain. Many thanks to Risi for helping The Brasse staff complete this quest!

STEPS:

1) Collect 9 bark strips from corrupted stumps. Radagast tells you:

"There are many bare stumps northwest of here. I should warn you: because of the corruption here, you should not traverse Agamaur alone."

I will list the coords for most of the corrupted stumps I found, though I encourage you to utilize Brasse's incomparable map of Agamaur that has the stumps marked on it. Happily, your entire fellowship can collect bark strips from the same stump without having to wait for any sort of respawn. In this area you'll be fighting level 28 Elite Bog-Prowlers, as well as level 27 Elite Corrupted Blood-Maples.

Coords: (28s, 28.8w), (28s, 29w), (28.3s, 28.6w), (27.9s, 28.4w), (28.4s, 28.3w), (27.6s, 28.2w), (27.9s, 27.9w), and (28.1s, 28w).

2) Deliver the bark strips to Radagast.

3) After you speak with them and select "Finish Now", you get your coin reward, XP, and you will now be able to take the next quest, Merciful Release.
