Grimbark's Reclamation

General Quest

Goldberry tells you how it was her kinswoman that became the Red-maid of Agamaur long ago. Goldberry feels the Red-maid as well as her land is beyond saving, but hopes to reclaim a bit of how things used to be. To that end, she wants you to bring her a special acorn from a tree that once grew in the Old Forest.

NOTE: My group succeeded in killing the tree on the first try, though not everyone lived (I did, woot!). For your comparison, here was our group make-up: Myself, a level 31 Hunter; Kalib, a level 38 Guardian; Niva, a level 20 Champion; Sinistwen, a level 39 Champion; Seriphor, a level 33 Captain, and Pinion, a level 29 Champion. Thank you to all of them for helping me with this quest.

STEPS:

1) Collect Grimbark's Seeds. Make your way to the Lone Lands, and to the Agamaur area far to the east and a bit north. Use the Agamaur mapto get to the Garth Agarwen zone. Then, with Brasse's Garth Agarwen map in hand, you can fight your way to the big and nasty tree. Of course, there will be plenty of big and nasty things that stand between you and the tree, so be prepared for lots of Elite fighting. Grimbark himself is a level 31 Elite Master with 15,066 morale and 2,446 power (29.9s, 24.6w). He has some regular level 31 Thrashing Red-Root mobs with him, plus the ability to call more when he wants. In addition, some Maddened Beehives (level 31 normal mob) surround Grimbark, and appear to work like a DOT. I suggest killing them as they show up. After the tree is dead and safe to poke, get the seeds from his corpse.

2) Return to Goldberry with Grimbark's Seeds.

3) After you speak with them and select "Finish Now", you get your coin reward, XP, and either Goldberry's Hope, Oakenbark's Redemption, or Celegdram.
